      I'm in a prison?

I was walking through a concrete corridor, apparently in a prison. I gradually became lucid. I entered this large hall, were I could see particularly large lions and tigers lying on the ground, possibly sleeping. I simply walked by, crossed the hall, into another corridor on the other side. On my right there were beds or operating tables (?) with more lions and even a horse lying on them - possibly dead or sedated.
On my left there were a lot of doors, so I tried opening it. I imagined a huge grass field under a warm sun - the place were I would meet my fantasy lover.
Instead, I entered a prison cell, but I could see my field through the little window. I started removing the windows (they were made of multiple layers of plastic) so I could climb through. But while I was doing that I suddenly noticed that my eyes were closed. My vision was reduced to nothing more than a fantasy. I had woken up.

I really hate it when stuff like this gets in my way.
Attempt no.1: I create my ocean cliff at sunset; but instead I get a ridiculously small island without grass, just beach.
Attempt no.2: I once again try to create my cliff, this time it works, but it's pitch black! Waaay to dark.
      Attempt no.3: I'm in a prison, and I can't escape.

Is my subconscious trying to stop me?

I think that this may be somewhat self-perpetuating. Because you have failed more than once at this particular task, you may begin to expect it to fail, thereby causing it to fail again et cetera. Perhaps you should put this goal aside for a while, and set a new goal to accomplish, then, after you have had some success, hopefully you will have the confidence to pull this one off.
