      My First Time

Hello everybody, I'm new to this board and very glad about having found such a nice place. I'm practising lucid dreaming for some weeks now and have already made some experiences I'd really like to share.

I had my first LD after three days of practising (which really surprised me 'cose I'm usually slow in such things ). While falling asleep I tried to remain conscious by focusing on the spot beetwen my eyebrows but after some time I became unaware and drifted into sleep. I woke up in the morning and without really noticing I continued practising. Then just before falling asleep again I heard a female voice who said something like: "Now its time to do it!" and because I didn't know what to do I just answered "Help me". In the next moment I saw a door before my inner eye and then I was sucked into a really vivid dream. I was in a theatre which was all decorated with red velvet and I felt really intimidated by the strenght of the colours. To calm down I said to myself "its just a dream" and then the show began. There were huge blocks on the stage moving around all the time with beautyful women sitting and laying on top of them. There was also a guy between these blocks who catched my attention. I don't know why but I somehow mistrusted him. He had something strange I couldn't explain. I tried to talk to him but it didn't work, I felt that I was using my physical mouth instead of my dream mouth. So I tried to send him a mental message and he turned around so suddenly that I was too amazed to say something decent. I just said "Cool show, dude " and he agreed and went away. He came back with a goblet and announced me to drink from it. I first hesitated because I didn't know what was in there and when I asked a voice said. "This goblet will nourish you a lifetime". Then a person beside me took a big sip
( I later recognized her as my girlfriend, she was present during the hole dream) which encouraged me to take a slug by myself. There was a timeline engraved in the goblet wich listed important events of my life, past and future ones (I didnt look at the future events because I didn't want to know them, I want to live them when its time to).
Then the presence of my girlfriend became stronger and stronger but I couldn't see her in my dream so I began to belive that she was standing beside my sleeping body (even if I knew that she was on holyday at that time.) Then I thought that she had come home without saying anything to surprise me with her return. This idea gladdened me so much that I decided to wake up. To my despair I found myself alone in my room.

After this experience I had some other LD's but they weren't nearly as intense as this one. The others were all dream induced through reality checks.

Do you think that there's a difference between DILD and WILD

My first LD was a few nights ago. (havn't had much advance since then, I've been sort of stressed out a little b/c I just started highschool today ) So anyways, I was in this big ass manision, don't know where that came from, and then I realized that it definatly wasn't my house so I was clearly dreaming. The first thing I tried was turning on lights. Simply looking at them and imagining them turning on didn't work, I found that pointing in its direction and using a verbal command works best. (*clap on!* :bravo: lmao) Haha, it was cool, then I tried my luck at walking up walls (inspired by The Matrix) that didn't turn out so good. I could go up mayb one step and then I would just slide down, but it didnt hurt b/c it a dream! I could also jump a lot higher (also inspired by The Matrix) it wasn't abmormally high though. Maybe about 10 feet, which is abnormal but you get what I mean. Also I fell a lot slower, sorta like floating down, as if there wasn't as much gravity which is a pretty sweet feeling. Next time I think I'm going to try asking my friend to the school dance...not that I like her

As for your question, in a WILD you wake up, so yea I think its different, but I'm definatly not the best person to ask.

That was your lucid dream? You shoulda tried something more daring like flying or kicking butt j/k..you can do whatever you

Do you think that there's a difference between DILD and WILD[/b]
There most definitly is. WILD is when you enter a dream DIRECTLY and still somewhat concious. You will see your dream start to materialize and you will still be aware that its all a dream. You are aware right from the start. A DILD is realizing that you are dreaming AFTER you have entered the dream. For example say you got lucid because you saw your dream sign or you just realized it was a dream for some reaosn. Thats a DILD.

hmmm, I think my question was unclear. What I meant to ask was if you've personally experienced a difference between WILD and DILD concerning the
"degree of reality" of a LD. When I have a WILD its very vivid and intensive
right from start and it feels more real, like beeing in a different dimension (i know this is just a feeling).

But when I'm in a DILD it often feels just like projected images. Its also often more unrealistic (more stuff you can't do in real-life) and I really know it's a dream.

This is a question that really interests me and I think everybody has dreams they consider more real.

What do you think about this?

ah, so thats what you meant.

Anyway, yes. I've heard from others that WILD dreams are more realistic than DILD dreams. I've only had one WILD and i didnt really notice anything more realer than my other dreams, but then again...i only had one WILD

      Summary: you are correct

Not true but sort of, will.i.am and I had a interesting discussion about both wilds and normal ld's we have, and he seemed to say that he had more control in a WILD than an ld, and I agreed with him on this, however I found that given my lack of mindbendingly good control of LD's they are much more realistic and dont fuzz out as much as WILD's tend to do.

      umm

hey, ... I was wondering... If you dream about a ghost like the one in the RING and she follows you around wherever you go, and even if you try to slice her with saws or shoot her, she doesn't stop, what do you do?

I guess, if you're lucid you could spin around and go somewhere else? Think of the most peaceful place in the world and just imagine it and go. I've only had 3 lds, and to sum it up, they sucked. So whatever floats your boat I guess.
