Talking First (as far as I know) lucid dream

This morning I had my first lucid dream. At least, I can't remember ever having one before. I have never tried inducing a lucid dream, as the one this morning happened naturally.

Long story short, I noticed something very strange in my dream (thinking back, it wasn't even the strangest thing that had happened in my dream, but that's the one I picked to question) and, thinking "how'd that cat get here?", I tried pinching my left forearm, to see if I felt pain. At that point, I should have just tried flying right from the start instead of pinching myself over and over trying to feel pain. Eventually, I realized that I was dreaming and that I could fly! I was in my basement, but not for long as I flew out and, concentrating on my back, grew a pair of wings out of nowhere. I was amazed at how my mind just naturally created wings without me having to think about what wings actually looked like.

So, I got upstairs and after hiding from people walking by in my house (I wasn't fully lucid) I walked (can't remember if I was still flying) out my front door and realized that it was raining outside. It was also nighttime, which I may had known from my dream already. This was before I had realized how hard it can be to actually control things. I tried stopping the rain, but it would only calm down for a few seconds or less. I tried this a couple more times before deciding to try making it daytime also. I suddenly got an idea that if I closed my eyes, then opened them, it would be daytime. When I opened my eyes, I was awake in my bed and it was eleven in the morning (much sooner than I probably would have waken up if I hadn't accidentally done it by dreaming!) I had to immediatey tell as many people as possble!

I joined these forums tonight because I can't wait to do this again, and I want to read about others' experiences, tips and reccomendations. I don't think I've ever remembered a dream so vividly before.

Congratulations on your first lucid! I mainly get the whole semi-lucity thing going on... the other night i actually said in my dream something along the lines of "you're not real, I know I'm dreaming" but got some reason I pretty much lost control from that point.. although I can still remember bits and pieces after that.
