      My first Lucid Dream!

yays! I had my first LD last night!

It was a false awakening. I remember waking up and RCing with the nose pinch technique. I couldnt breathe perfectly, but it just didnt feel right. I wasnt sure about that reality check, so I looked at my clock. I didnt even have to look twice, the display looked weird so i just concluded that I was dreaming. What amazes me most is the clarity that resulted from this discovery. I was looking at my room and it looked exactly like it looks in waking life. I tried to get up, but I started to loose the dream so I dropped to the floor and rubbed my hands while I stared at the floor, but I lost my dream anyway. I tried to maintain lucidity in the darkness, but I lost it and woke up.

Something interesting is that I went to bed about 3 hours later than I usually do. Maybe this has something to do with it?

This was an amazing experience, and I hope it is the first of many! Thanks to all the guys who helped me!

I have your same problem (if you could call it that). The nose RC just never seems right to me, even though I know it's working. So to confirm, I do the finger through palm RC. Thank goodness for backups.

I think going to bed 3 hours later had nothing to do with it. It was just your day. (or rather, night )

Here's to many more Lucid Dreams for you!

Also, to be on the safe side, I'm going to move this to the Lucid Experience section.

Actually I feel like going to sleep 3 hours late might have something to do with it... I love it when I sleep being really exhausted (eyes heavy) Because at this point my mind is in more of a passive state (no rushing thoughts) + I fall asleep easier. So I just hold the idea that I want to LD, or even better, have an astral voyage experience, but most likely LD. Then do a few reality checks before hitting the sheets and sleep.

Thanks everyone! I think I will reserve one night a week to see if the late to sleep has any influence.

      hey, well done

learning to lucid dream is all about paying attention to the variables that matter for you personally. We all have human brains, so there are certain generalizations that help to get started, but past that, trust your own logic and intuition.

your plan to set aside one night to test the "late night" theory sounds perfect.

      peace.
