Flying fun (first lucid dream... I think)

Hi im a first time poster... noticed this site on google after having an amazing dream experience this morning.

I've always been a bit of a strange sleeper, I've broken bones sleep walking and always shouted out in my sleep. I also get sleep paralysis alot, especially after a lie in. This is never accompanied by any kind of hallucination but is always a bit uncomfortable... I was a bit worried about it for a while but was relieved to find that it was common after a bit of reading up on it.

Recently I think i have been having lucid dreams... I've got this particulary annoying recurring nightmare whaere my teeth fall out so much so that as soon as this dream occurs these days I know im dreaming. However that realisation usually causes me to wrench myself out of the dream which occasionally induces the sleep paralysis.

However this morning something new and very exciting happened I had been woken up at around 7 due to my cat gone straight back to sleep and I had a crazy dream ( I wont bore you with the details of what it involved). The dream culminated in me trying to walk up a hill hwever the hill would become comepletly vertical and i would keep sliding down. After numerous attempts to get up this hill it dawned on me that it could be a dream, and then I remembered waking up at 7. This was followed by a sensation I cant really describe like I could feel myself in bed at the same time as standing next to the hill. I decided to try flying and what happend was I shot really fast towards the sky looking down at the ground getting smaller and smaller. Whilst this was fun, the speed literally freaked me it felt intensely real and I began to wonder stupidly if it was real. In the end i had to wrench myself out of the dream and had a very long experience of sleep paralysis.

Kinda waffled a bit there is this experience typiucal of a lucid dream? what are your opinions?

Haha, I can relate. A lot of times in my lucid dreams, I'll be doing something, usually something dangerous like jumping out of a window, and I'll suddenly think "Wait a second....if this is real, I'm in a world of trouble." Jus low level lucidity interference I guess. But yeah, it's usually cos everything does feel so real that it puts that doubt in my mind. Some kind of self preservation thing I reckon....annoying! Why can't my mind just let me jump out of windows without questioning whether it's a good idea or not
