      First Lucid Dream! :D

      Yes!

Well, I made the swim team, and went to my first practice yesterday. INCREDIBLY exhausting. Right when I got home I collapsed on my bed and instantly when to sleep. I thought about trying a WILD, but came to the conclusion that I was way too tired to even try it. Anyways, lucid dream.

I had a dream where somehow I got this very muscular guy to get mad at me. (I'm not sure, I have terrible dream recall.) He lunged at me and punched me in the face so hard I went unconscious and woke up instantly in my bed. I got up and noticed that I was taller than usual and came to the conclusion that I was dreaming. I did a RC and plugged my nose and breathed in through my nose, and it worked! It felt pretty weird. I got up out of bed and looked around my room. It was flooded with natural light and reminded me of Saturday mornings when you get up at 10:00 AM. My bookcase and my desk were switched around and I had no closet anymore. My walls were painted orange/green (I don't know which, they look the same to me. ) and had one too many windows than normal. I tried to go out of my room but when I opened the door, there was a coat closet there instead. I decided to try the technique to create things by expecting them there. I closed the door and (I don't know why this went through my mind at the time) told myself "I know that there will be a scary beast inside this closet". I opened the door, and well, there was. It was dark and lean and reminded me of a muscular hyena. It lunged at me and I fell over. It began to tear at me and it kinda hurt, but not really. I just forgot about it and moved on to other things and it disappeared. I aimed myself at the window, attempting to fly but then everything started to fade. I got incredibly unbalanced and the room started to tilt every which way. I tried every technique I know to make it longer. I spun around, that didn't work. I grabbed the nearest object to stabilize the dream, didn't work. I screamed "INCREASE LUCIDITY" several times, also didn't work. So everything faded out and I woke up. I checked the clock, it said it was around 6:00 AM. I did a reality check and plugged my nose again and I was awake. I did the clock reality check too. I was bummed out that I didn't get to do anything that I actually wanted. But now I know that it's possible! The dream was so clear, I've never had a dream I can remember this well.

I almost started to doubt lucid dreaming. But now, I know it's true! Maybe now that I've had one, it will be easier to have more!

I thank this forum for teaching me what a lucid dream is and how to know if I'm in a dream. I was filled with never ending joy when I noticed that I was in one!

Congrats on your first lucid dream! And for most people, the first ld is the hardest. Also, most people don't really do much their first ld either, it seems. I'm so happy for you I shall give you a dancing banana:

Wow! I wish my first was like this. My few lucids are still so friggin weird and pretty much absolutely uncontrollable by me, they might as well be non-lucids

      Good job

Wow good for you I have just read about this[LD] and started my dream journal last night. I had a restless nights sleep and can remember 2 dreams vividly, but didn't lucid dream. What does WILD mean? Only new here I've just registered, thanks in advance.
