      Cool Longest Lucid?

Just want to know the duration of your longest lucid in real time. Or the amount it seemed.( Ya it would be hard to know how long in reality)

      Mine was probably 3 minutes.:

you mean in a single dream sequence only? or all the segments combined? mine was probably 5 minutes for a single segment, and probably a little less than 10 minutes in a single night. i really need to work on it

You spend 1/3 of your life asleep, so why waste it?

Last night I had a low level lucid (for the most part, with one DEILD near the end) that lasted about 90 minutes (that's just an estimate though since I forgot large parts of it. The parts I remember only lasted about 30-40 minutes I'd say). It was so long that during the lucid I was actually concerned I wouldn't remember the whole thing and it ended up that I didn't. I did remember the beginning and a middle part and the end though. Check my Nov. 14 2008 DJ entry if you're curious. I don't feel like going into more detail. Before that the longest I'd had seemed like 10 minutes and that was a fully controllable LD.

Mine felt like only 15-20 minutes but ended up being 2 hours.
Its possable that I could have just lost lucidicy somewhere.

I had that tow nights ago, though it couldn't have felt like longer than 20 minutes even if I had remembered it.

hey Walms, i'm just curious, are you a natural? or did you have to "train" to get 2000 plus lucid dreams? do you think about lucid dreaming before going to bed, and hope it happens? or do you go through the whole procedure like most of us? i know these are a lot of questions, but i would be grateful if you answered them, thanks

Not natural, just always liked dreams, so started to train at 4-5 (can't remember the exact time)
They rarely happen naturally, so DILD and DEILD is what I use the most, ah the procedure, then again, if I'm non-lucid the dreams will stick to reality and common RC won't work, thats how transformed gravity into a RC lol

Hm... I feel off-topic "hits self"

I don't think I have had any lucid dreams last longer than about 30 seconds

      cool
thanks for answering. i hope someday i will have lucid dreams daily. i keep missing obvious clues, for example last night i was talking to my boss's wife in a dream and she told me she wouldn't know what to do if she was lucid, i said "yeah, i wouldn't know what to do if i was lucid right now too"

that was just stupid of me to miss, also in another dream last night i was offering DC's help in controlling their dreams, yet i wasn't lucid

so i guess i really need to pay more and more attention to stuff like that.

Are we talking about Dream Time? The percieved time that went by? Or actual time? The duration of time that passed during the dream sequence?

As far as dream time I could say I have easily experienced dreams that went from The early hours of the morning when the sun had not yet risen, clear till when the sun had set again roughly 16-24 hours. However in actual time I am guessing 8-16 hours had passed. (Yes I usually do get quite a bit of sleep).

Less real time then that, probably passed, Oneironaut Bunny. Your REM sleep is only a portion of the actual sleep time. Dream time doesn't have to emulate real time at all!

my first one, and it probably lasted 5 minutes which i think is pretty good for a first lucid dream.
Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead...only try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

It certainly is! Most people wake as soon as they realize it the first few times. Congrats.

No I'm pretty sure. My longest LD occurred when I slept for roughly 40 some odd hours. So when you sleep for 40+ straight hours I am quite sure your REM period is going to be quite long is it not?

      Wow, that's a long sleep...

REM is generally about 20 percent of your sleep, though I imagine it could vary alot if you'd slept long enough. I wouldn't know.

Still, it is hard to tell how much time one particular dream took out of your REM based on how long it felt. I once had a dream that felt like two months! (Non-lucid. Hehe.) But who knows? Maybe it was...

I've had dreams that have gone for days, but I'm not sure how that works... I'm thinking either time is sped up in these dreams, or that I have false memories of things that happened a few dream days ago.

About 10 minutes. And day-long dreams are a result of time dialation. You want to do something experienced (i.e. walking) and your brain just teleports you there and gives false memories of you doing it.

Dreams use transitions to imitate a progress of time, like movies.

My longest lucid dream felt like it lasted about five minutes and yet, I accomplished nothing but making a fool out of myself in front of my dream brother. =P (unless you count a first WILD as an accomplishment in itself)
