1st attempt to have a Lucid dream a success!

Yesterday I found this site and read about lucid dreaming. After I read all the things I needed, I went on the forums and just looked around. Then I went to sleep and tried lucid dreaming for the first time.

I woke up 3 hours after I went to sleep. I had only 3 hours of sleep but I feel as if I don't need more. I have FULLS energy in 3 hours. When I woke up after that little sleep I remember feeling very excited, but about what I don't know. I'm very sure I had a lucid dream, but my dream recall needs a lot of work. I'm sure I would be very sleepy unless I had a lucid dream. And you don't get excited (positive) in nightmares.

Any tips to help my dream recall? I forgot the whole thing in like 2 seconds.

      Keep a dream journal.

Thats probably the best thing you can do to improve your recall.

With my dream journal, I can now remember 2-4 dreams a night(2 is minimum), but I realized I have a lot more nightmares than I thought.

Lucid dreaming takes lots of time. I've slowly been getting better and better dream recall (at least one a night) and lucid dreams almost weekly. Just have pacience. It was about a month after discovering lucid dreaming that I had my first one.

Dream journal helps, but if you're like me, you won't have the time or effort. Just think about your dream immediately after waking up and think about it for about 5 minutes. You should be able to keep it with you for days after that.

He's right, I couldn't remember any dreams and had no dream recall but this morning i remembered one and though about it enough, i still remember it. I forgot the two others i remembered since i didn't think about them long... but it works. I find a dream journal can be a hassle, i don't usually want to get out of bed and it's too dark to actually write into it.
