Smile My LD left me in a prolonged state of euphoria

This morning I had one of the most incredible lucid experiences ever. Sorry this post is long, hopefully you will find my experience interesting. There is actually one question in there, and also a great suggestion for you to try...

I had been in a ND (normal nonlucid dream) for ages when I saw this kid fall from somewhere high onto the ground in front of me. He was badly hurt and his brother and mum didn’t know what to do. I asked his mum if she had any pain relief in her house. She went and got her first aid box and I started rifling through it. I was specifically looking for Diclofenac (an anti-inflammatory analgesic). I found a bottle that had “diclofenac” written perfectly on the outside. The scenery changed and I was now inside her house. I kept looking through the first aid box and I started to notice it had heaps of items in it that were identical to those in my own first aid box. Then I started finding more and more items which were identical to things I’d owned in the past. At first I thought it was all just a coincidence until I found a ballerina brooch identical to one I’d owned when I was about seven years old. I mean, it was getting ridiculous! I still didn’t click that it was a dream but thought it was a good time to do a RC. I fully expected the test to pass. I was dumbfounded when it failed! So I was now lucid.

I then told the kid's mother that I was going off to talk to someone (my lucid goal). She was cool with that so I walked out of the room and saw a hallway. As I entered the hallway I remembered what DV member WolfeDreamer531 suggested as a dream goal which was to simply stop and “take everything in”. I did this and it was amazing! I strongly suggest you guys try it next time you are lucid! The clarity increased tenfold and I was blown away by the detail of the hallway. There was a room at the end of it and I could see an aquarium full of beautiful fish. The fish floated out into the air and started drifting towards me. They were SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I reached out and touched one.

Then I saw a closed door and willed the person I wanted to meet with to be behind it. I opened the door and walked in but the room was completely empty. I was pretty disappointed. I am having real trouble summoning this person. I’ve failed so many times recently with this goal. I have succeeded in the past but now I just can’t seem to do it. Any suggestions on how I can meet with this person would be appreciated.

Anyway, I didn’t want to waste lucid time trying to think of another way to achieve this. I figured I was better to think it through when awake, so I went out the back door. Outside was a carnival scene and lots of people everywhere. I saw a guy and somehow knew he was the brother of a childhood friend of mine named Angela. I started walking along beside him. I haven’t seen Angela for 30 years in RL so just for a laugh I asked her brother “Hey, what’s your sister up to these days?”. He replied “oh her cell phone has been playing up” Lol!

Anyway, we were coming up to this building and I suddenly thought that it would be boring to go in there and that I wanted to do something fun. I decided to do some flying coz I hadn’t flown for a while and I felt like showing off to everyone and amazing them all. Well, holy cow it was amazing alright! I floated up quite high into the air and this GLORIOUS sounding music started playing. It was orchestral and it was “I dreamed a dream” from the musical “Les Miserables”. Here is a version of it by Hayley Westenra who is a famous New Zealand singer. Her voice is exquisite. You can play it in a different window while you read http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcMJl...e=channel_page I can’t describe how thrilling it felt to be flying high above the carnival below with this tune bellowing out from the heavens. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life. I saw a woman wearing a green top walking on the ground and I decided to swoop down from behind her and zoom across in front of her to give her a surprise. As I was doing this I woke up.

Well… I spent the next four hours completely euphoric. I can't remember ever feeling so happy before. It was bizarre. I have never taken substances ever but it felt like I was on some kind of drug-induced trip. My mood was just so extraordinarily exuberant. I was singing at the top of my lungs and jigging in my car all the way down the freeway to work and singing and dancing in the operating room when we were setting up for the first operation. I mean, I’m naturally a very happy, high-spirited person but this was off the wall! I swear if I could invent some kind of safe, natural, herbal supplement that induced this feeling I would be a multi BILLIONAIRE.

It was weird because I distinctly noticed myself “come down” from the high at around 10am. However I still remained remarkably happy for the rest of the day. So so strange but so unbelievably cool! Just thought I’d share.

To anyone who has never had a LD and is thinking of giving up… DON’T!!! They are truly incredible.

Glad to hear, kichu! Thanks for taking the time to read it. Honestly, I can't believe how profoundly affected I have been today from that dream. It's totally trippy!

I remember one lucid, and actually.....right now I have NO idea what it was about...but I DO remember the nexy day just being so completely exhilerated from my LD. I wanted to run up to everyone and start talking about it, and it was driving me INSANE that everyone I know wasn't interested in LD'ing, or even knew what it is! But I was just over the moon about it. I know nothing in particular had happened in the dream, no particular feeling.....but I just felt like I was on top of the goddamn world. I will NEVER forget it. And for no reason other than - I was lucid in a dream! So crazy.

So, I know exactly how you feel.

I think for me it was the combination of being lucid, achieving some goals and flying to that music. I totally recommend you listen to it. It is sooooooo beautiful, and Hayley's voice is phenomenal. As you listen to the music, imagine flying to it! It was out of this world!

At one point, when I had just arrived at work and was sitting in my car in the carpark I felt so happy I actually started crying. I mean, it was just weird I tell you!

      I dreamed a dream...

Wow, listening to that put the description of your dream in a different context. Lovely.

The music is not my cup of tea. But your dream sounds pretty awesome sounds like you had a really really good time. And the fact that this feeling carried over even into your waking life for a few hours is quite the bonus.

As for your question. I'm no expert on summoning people my favorite method is the one you tried and it failed I'd look around the forums bit more or try searching summoning people. This all has to do with dream control so you could even check out some Dream Control topics.

I know BillyBob's is quite fantastic so you may want to give that look.

Congratulations and keep up the awesome work.

WOW DreamQueen! Thats incredible that you had that amazing LD. Im glad that you actually remembered to take it all in b/c a lot of times when Im lucid, Im focusing a lot of my energy towards staying lucid and not waking up that I forget to do a lot of my goals that I set out. There was a lot of detail in that dream too, that's when you know its a good vivid one.

That's really awesome how you were listening to music in your LD too. I always thought about whether or not I can actually will music into my dream but you seemed to have proven that to definitely be do-able!

Ill message you if I get (or remember) any LDs tonight (unlikely, damn medication) or if I complete a WILD.

And thats quite an after glow you had too. I cant wait until I get oneof those LDs (like my first) that keeps my spirits up the whole day.

One thing I always do when trying to summon a person/object is to look away for a brief moment, picture that person's face in my head as clearly as I can, and then turn back around "knowing" that they'll be there. I dont know if you already tried this but it seems to work for me almost every time.

Yeah, it's not exactly the sort of music I can imagine guys thrashing on their car stereos lol but it was just so uplifting to fly to! Thanks for your advice

Yeah, I actually did pause and picture this person before I entered the room but deep down I didn't expect him to be there because I'm so used to failing to summon him these days. It's a vicious circle unfortunately. The more often I fail the less I expect to see him each time I try

Hope you WILD successfully tonight! Will PM re our secret squirrel experiment

Wow!!!!! I have just been reading about how it is possible to experience unusually powerful positive emotions in lucid dreams. I did not know this before I had my dream but I can certainly vouch for it now!

I discovered LDing naturally about twenty years ago but unfortunately back then without such tools as internet communication I didn't discover that they could be deliberately induced and so I didn't have them all that often - maybe once a year, if that. I didn't even know what they were called until March this year when I had a really amazing one. I happened to mention what I had experienced on a completely unrelated forum and someone told me it was called Lucid Dreaming. I googled it and found this site!

Since then I've had heaps. I average 2-3 per week at the moment, but would like more! I simply can't get enough of them! My dreams are so incredibly vivid and realistic. I can't even rely on the hand check or the reading check or the clock check because they all look normal in my dreams lol! I have had successful WILD but I mainly get lucid from RCs and FAs. How bout you?

Even if my LD lastes only 5 seconds it fills my heart with glad and keeps me motivated whole day. The mere realization.

I must be easy to satisfy
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

Congrats on such an awesome dream. I always find that my LDs that have melodies or music in them reward me with a "super happy" feeling for hours after ward.

As far as your attempts on Dream Character summons go, i would like you to ask your self a few questions (you don't have o reply to them, just acknowledge the answers for your self)

(1a)- Is the dream character your trying to summon some one you know in real life, such as a friend, a family member, or just some one who you have come in contact with in Consensus Reality?

      Or

(2b)-is this person imaginary, some one you simply want to hang out with, who posses certain characteristics (i assume your a girl, so lets say you are trying to summon a pretty blond boy to keep you company, or an exquisite powerful and knowledgeable woman to help answer some questions)

I highly recommend you start with (2b), Before going to sleep imagine as vividly as you can what this person looks like(hair color, clothes(if any), body build, and character attributes. Then give this person a name.

Next time you are Lucid, do exactly as you did before, (imagine as vividly as you can that when you walk through the door, this person will be on the other side) except this time ALSO issue a command out loud "When i walk through this door ("Dream character name") will be on waiting for me on the other side" Walk through the door

After you become comfortable summoning (2b) type characters, try summoning (1a) type.

If summoning (2b) type characters didn't work, try starting out by simply asking out loud for a companion and intending to be accompanied. Your command would be something along the line of "I would like a friendly companion to share this dream with" (remember your commands must be spoken in a clear voice, in your dream, while focusing your intent on what you want)... The only difference with this one is you are leaving the name, looks, personality, and attributes part blank. (this is also a good dream task to see what you get, i was flying over a castle with a nearby Forest when i issued this command and a fairy like creature joined me in my flying.

Keep in mind that almost nothing is for certain in your dreams and sometimes it takes more than one dream to accomplish something, for example my record for changing weather/summoning snow storms and typhoons had a success rate of 3 out of 8 times total. But the 3 times that it DID work it was awesome

Let me know how your next attempt at summoning DCs goes.

I would wish you luck, but i don't think your gonna need it

      Emin
