      A Meaning?

      Yo, Blue Origami here.

About a month and a half ago I had a very vivid and memorable lucid dream. It took place in a very dark place in what seemed to be in the middle of a wasteland, which itself was in the middle of nowhere. The sky was depressing shades of grey and black, the ground was dead save for some skeleton bramble and tumble weeds. In front of me was a house, something broken down and looking like it would blow over with a good gust of wind, but it was obvious that someone lived there. Animal skulls lay scattered out on a picnic table, bleached from whatever sun could peek through the dark clouds overhead. Fencing ran from a few feet in front of the front steps all the way to about a foot from the perimeter fencing. Everything, I mean everything was covered in barbwire.

I walked up to the front porch and through the open front door. The inside was dark, but to my eyes it was if it was dimly lit. There was nothing inside but a chair and support beams, ah and a deer. This deer was like a young doe, not a faun, but barely into its second year of life. And yet it had antlers, long as if she had been living for five times what she looked. Around these grand antlers was the barbwire, which was holding it to one of the support beams of the house. I approached it and it lifted its head, and it spoke to me. Not from its mouth, but straight into my mind.

It showed me how it had come upon this place, like a movie in my head. She told me about the man here, how he had caught her, and what he was going to do to her. He knew she was special, and for that was going to take her life and get an item called 'God's Sake'. It apparently made one immortal, but as implied only a God could drink from it.

She asked me, begged me to free her, for the man was going to return soon. I nodded and went outside, where I found a skinning knife. But before I could grab it, a large shadow loomed over me. I quickly spun around to see who it was, and indeed it was him. He was giant, towering over me by a good three or four feet, but his frame was lanky. He wore a red, black and white checkered shirt dirtied with the dust blowing about, as was his skin. I could not see his eyes for they were shadowed, but I could feel them burrowing into me. I didn't speak.

He seemed surprised to have someone around, and began speaking civilly with me. Though still scared and nervous I spoke back. We spoke of his animal skulls, that he was a trapper, and about life out there. I brought up the deer, and he smiled. He confirmed that he was going to kill her and bring out God's Sake, and stood up from the picnic bench to go inside. In an attempt to make him pause I told him only a God could drink the sake, but he showed no sign of heeding this.

He walked inside and began to slowly close the door. I could see the deer's eyes, begging, pleading for me to help it. But I turned away, stuffed my hands into my coat pockets and began to walk away. It was then that I became aware, and for fear that the deer would do something to me I slapped myself until I woke up.

Ever since I have felt horrible. I feel a heavy weight in my chest and mind, and my thoughts keep wandering back to the deer. I'm not sure if this means it was something crucial, or if I am simply getting too emotional over a dream.

      Input please?

Fascinating. Truly fascinating! To start I would ask an admin to please move this thread to the dream interpretation forum. I think you'll get a lot more useful replies there.

Allow me to begin my thoughts by saying, sometimes dreams are just dreams, and nothing more. No signs, nothing significant, just a dream. Other times, the subconscious can communicate with the conscious mind through dreams, as most people do not know how to listen to the subconscious, and I think that's what this dream of yours was.

I'm not much good at dream interpretation, but it seems like there may have been something in the back of your mind from a long time ago that you felt guilty about. Dreams often are a recount of a symbolization for something that happened already. Was there a time where you could have helped someone to stop them from going through something terrible, but didn't? Or something like that?

I have had dreams like this, that seemed very significant, and made me feel terrible for days, yet they were not significant. They were just dreams I've also had dreams where I fell in love with a dream character, and felt terrible when I realized she wasn't real. Could just be a dream. Who knows..
