A Ruckus at the "Dream Station"

I had an LD of being at some train station and I was trying to levitate. Two pricks in cop uniforms came and stopped me without saying a word.
I thought they were helping me or something but one tried to trip me while the other was pushing me. Obviously they're up to no good so I shrugged them off of me and made gestures of a firearm in attempt to summon a gun.

That didn't work and those clowns morphed into one creepy looking guy and ran inside a train cart while it was leaving. I couldn't get in. He gave me a smug look, mocking my attempts to catch up with him. Soon I looked around and everyone at the station began looking like the same guy. This was even creepier. Has this ever happened to anyone? Can a DC with ill-intent pull an Agent Smith (Matrix fans know where I'm getting at)? Why were these DC's trying to keep me from flying?

This was a cool dream but I left a lot of stuff out. This dream felt extremely real. I didn't even want to have sex in the train station(another part to the train station extravaganza but that's another story)because I thought it was real life for a split second and that I'd be in trouble with the law.

Sometimes events that happen even while lucid can be quite curious. You have to remember that a DC is a DC. They don't have intent of any kind, other than the intent you give them (be it consciously or unconsciously). In my experience, things that happen in LDs that prevent me from doing what I"m trying to do is really my subconscious's way of telling me that I'm not confident enough in my dream control abilities to pull it off.

That's what I think happened with you. DC's are only what you allow them to be. Are you sure you were fully in control? Lucid and the ability to control dreams can sometimes be very different.

i think the "dream cops" are just what his subconscious says they are. Cops are enforcers of laws (whether laws are correct or not). My thought is that the dream cops represent those conventional aspects of personality that believe in rigid enforcement of rules and regulations. maybe a part of dreamer has been conditioned by parents, friends, society at large that flying isn't possible and so a part of him is trying to validate that belief. it actually trips and pushes dreamer down. I'm curious as to whether dreamer is proactive or reactive in waking reality. i've found that my dreams are reflections of my conscious way of expereincing reality. for instance if i am shy and antisocial ie not extroverted in waking life i will generally carry this into dream state. i would suggest dreamer question whether he really believes he can fly in dreams. i "KNOW" i can because i've done it hundreds of times. If i can then dreamer can. i'm not special. if i can do it then it's possible for that person as well. generally it's the thoughts we cling to that keep us in the ruts of life not external influences.

Interesting way of looking at it, Diablero. That's part of why I was curious to see if User was fully lucid.. The concept of how you are affected by things consciously affecting your dreams is typically a characteristic of regular non-lucid dreams, but I guess unless a dreamer is FULLY aware and conscious, those things can occur in a lucid or semi-lucid dream as well, like you said..

I do believe that User had trouble with the flying as a result of his or her own subconscious not fully believing it could be done. The subconscious, and even your own "conscious" thoughts can be your best friend or worst enemy in an LD. I read a quote somewhere ages ago:

Whether you believe you can or not, you're right.

Think about it and try agian, User

I was definitely Lucid, sorry for leaving that out. Gaining Lucidity was a part of a whole bunch of stuff I left out. I entered the dreamscape through SP. I didn't intentionally WILD though. I just had SP and stayed calm. A few moments later, I'm in a train cart with my cousin telling her how we're in a lucid dream, and that nothing was real, the whole 9 yards. I was sort of like her guide because she was skeptical about dreaming. Every LD that I've ever had, I automatically knew I was dreaming without questioning it. No RC or anything like that(for the exception of my first ever LD). I just move on with the dream trying to knock out specific tasks, knowing that I'm dreaming.
