Lucid dreaming prepares you for life

Some of you already know this, but I am a certified first responder. That means whenever someone at work has an accident or an onset of sudden illness like a sugar crisis, epilepsy or a heart attack, I am called to the scene first to evaluate and treat until the ambulance arrives. I'm also morally obligated to stop when I am first on the scene at traffic accidents.

So far, I've had very few incidents I've had to deal with. The worst so far was when one of our employees fell and cut the back of her head on her desk. Needless to say, without a major trauma, I wonder if I have 'The right stuff' to handle something serious. You can train and train for something, but until you are called upon, you just don't know.

Anyway, last Thursday night, I was having one of the most vivid non-lucid dreams I've had in a while. Here goes.

I was driving my daughter and her boyfriend to the mall or somewhere. I saw a lady trying to cross a major intersection on foot. As I drove past her, I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw her get taken out by a hit and run driver.

She was laying all crumpled up in a puddle of blood. I applogized to my daughter and said I had to go back. When I got there, there were a number of things going on.

She was attempting to get up, there was a group of spectators standing around her, there was someone trying to help, but really causing more damage, cars were still whizzing by.

I got on the scene and politely told the lady trying to help the victim to just leave her alone and get out of the way. It was at this point I becam lucid.

I remember the good samaritan getting all huffy because I ran her off. I then began trating the victim, pretty nasty wounds and broken bones.

At that point, I called out for my daughter to use her cell phone to call 911 because we had a serious injury here.

The crowd pressed in on us and was jostling me so much that I could not even complete my primary assessment of the victim. I was yelling at them and telling them to back off and form a perimeter.

I felt the dream fading and smiled to myself. I had done it! Even though it was a lucid dream, it was so real and had all the elements possible in an actual accident of that type and I didn't panic.

I feel now, that with the help of my lucid dream, that I am prepared for my first major trauma.

Lucid dreaming rocks on so many levels. It is not just about flying or sex, it really does prepare you for life!

Thanks for reading all this, I know it was a little long.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

that was a great lucid dream to have... now it's like you already experienced it, so-like you said- you'll be prepared for a dramatic situation in reality.

Lucid dreaming is like a life simulater, and the controls are your thoughts, your imagination, the possibilities of what you can acheive in a dream are endless.

Maybe you could LD about petitioning the municipal authorities, Seeker .
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
