the allstate guy convinced me of a deeper meaning to LD's

recently i found myself lucid in some tropical city... it reminded me of miami but it could have been california or something. immediately i felt a sense of urgency... like something big was about to happen. first thing i do when i become lucid is start floating... and occasionally if i'm in an area with other people, several of them will float too. sometimes i wonder if it's other lucid dreamers? i know it's kind of a wacky idea but who knows....

anyway it happened this time but none of the others seemed to notice anything unusual about the floating people surrounding them! so, all of a sudden i see the allstate guy, so i go up to him and say "hey, you're the allstateguy!" (really clever, i know). then i told him "i'm dreaming right now! are you?" i was pretty excited because it was really the first time i attempted talking to anyone about the lucid dream while i was in it. he seemed really scared and looked at me like i was crazy and then started to run away from me. i was following him, asking him what was the problem but suddenly i woke up.

for some reason this was a striking LD to me. although not as fun as many others i've had, or nothing "big" happened like i'd expected, for some reason i felt like it was important and i was close to finding some deeper meaning. i couldn't shake the feeling i had felt at first. i've always wondered about lucid dreams. and just dreams in general..why? and not just the scientific analysis. maybe it has something to do with our collective consciousness.. i feel like there is more to the universe than just particles and atoms and neurons firing... cultures for millenniums have theorized about dreaming and it's great importance in culture, religion, life. now modern science dismisses it as largely insignificant.

i dunno!!!! maybe it was just trying to tell me that insurance companies don't like me...

anyway, other people must have similar theories about lucid dreaming. i'm not crazy right? i'd love to hear ideas...

      Interesting LD.

While I dont believe the theory of other dreamers being involved in "your" dream world, I do believe theres a hell of alot more then meets the eye with dreams.

What I also find interesting is how you mentioned that you'd like to believe there is more to the universe than just particles, atoms, and neurons. I'd like to think otherwise and instead believe there are more to particles, atoms, and neurons then what we know of.

Regardless of what I said I still dont think your crazy.

I notice in most lucid stories I read if a DC isn't you dream guide they don't want to talk to you about your dream. I had a dream that I was floating above a forest Then i went lucid so to test it i made the forest catch fire then i felt bad so I turned it to a winter wonderland
then I landed spun in a circle teleported to a street and i talked to a DC and Ask him to tell me about dreamland over and over again but he said he didn't know with a fake smile(he also looked kinda scared) so i punched him and felt bad so I rewound time to before I punched him and left then I woke up.

Perhaps the deeper meaning is, the right coverage at the right price makes all the difference when you're in good hands.
Funny dream you had. I guess seeing the allstate guy in person might be a good tipoff that you are perhaps in a dream. I'm sure if I saw that the Pilsbury Dough Boy dancing around the table I'd go lucid too. I hope. It's sad how the dreaming mind can just about rationalize anything. Unfortunately for me my dreams have nothing bizarre in them. They're more real than real life so it's hard to go lucid.
