i never knew about lucid dreaming, until ...

[FONT="Century Gothic"]ok. So. Most of the time, since i can rember im pretty good at remembering my dreams. There either about sex or the end of the world so to speak. (or just something really bad happening) So, 2 nights ago, im having a great dream, that im about to have sex with (if you watch sex and the city ) Smith. And, i was shyly walking over to him when i woke up. At least i thought i woke up -_- i walked downstars and everything was real, so i just assumed i had atcually woken up. I opend the from door and the sky was all wierd and tornados were forming and i started panacing and said to myslef omg this cant really be happening, and then it stoped and someone i havent seen in years just came up to my front door and said 'jesus that was close' thats when i said . yea... this has got to be a dream, this cant be real and as i said this, i woke up. And i was in awe of what just happened. so i just started to read up on realistic dreams and found this site. Was it a lucid dream ?

Yes, that was a lucid dream. All that needs to happen to make it a lucid dream is for you to realize that you're dreaming before you wake up. Good dream recall, false awakenings, and unusual realism are also often associated with lucid dreams, so it's not suprising you realized you were dreaming.

tornados are bad. I forgot exactly what but I read in a dream interpretation book and its not good.

That's very similar to how I first learned about lucid dreaming, experiencing it first hand and realizing the only explanation was that I was conscious inside of my own dream. Congrats! And welcome!
