      Sorta WILD

I just had my first WILD-like experience. I wouldn't say I stayed conscious all the way into sleep (I didn't get the vibrations or HI), but I was conscious enough that when a dream started coming together, I knew what was happening and let it firm up into an LD. I also "set up" the dream by laying down in the dream and going to sleep. I'd never done it before, but it was cool--I lay down on my back, closed my eyes, and almost immediately felt my forehead pressing against a hard, cool surface. I let my forehead slide along the surface (very vivid sensation), then opened my eyes and sat up at a desk in an empty, dark schoolroom, much more solid and vivid than my previous environment.

All in all, a great LD just for fun and exploring--I did some flying, some telekinesis, found a mirror that gave me a different hairstyle everytime I looked at it. I was having trouble conjuring anything outright, so at one point I looked down at a paving stone and thought, "I'd like to see a mouse cross that paving stone," as an experiment, and it worked! The mouse started as a vague black shape, then firmed up into a mouse and ran off into the dreamscape.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

This just recently happened to me too. I didn't know whether to classify it as a WILD or otherwise, as I had briefly fallen asleep.

What did it feel and look like when you first entered the dream? In mine, I saw a few motionless 'frames' or scenes that appeared in my vision. I slowly tried to work my way into the dream rather then passively watching it. Fifteen seconds or so later I was able to move a bit into one of the scenes, but I felt a bit empty, as though I were missing a body. To remedy this, I tried to take control of someone else's body. I'm not sure if it worked or not. The dream scene changed fairly quickly after that.

I guess I did have some hypnagogic imagery--formless stimuli that fluttered between being a few different things, then sort of knit together into a dream environment.
