not sure if this was one!

my dreams always seem so real as it is...but anyways in this dream I thought it might be lucid because I was able to make decisions, and do math... but my body was listening to my head. so I think I was almost lucid dreaming but for some reason I just couldn't get fully into it!
when you do lucid dream is that how it is? are you just making decisions for yourself? or are you actually there does it feel so real all over like do you make decisions and then you do them?
And so where do I go from here? oh and another thing I thought it might be lucid because a soon as I rolled over I woke directly up from a dead sleep and couldn't even go back to my sleep...that never happens!
hmm I'm confused, I hope I didn't confuse people while I was talking lol. thx for any help anyways.
      Rylan.

Lucid dreaming is just to be aware that you are dreaming. just that. As long as you knew it was a dream, then you LD'ed

Yep Nightowl hit it directly on the Money. Lucid Dreaming is just being aware that you are dreaming. I think people may have a variation of sensations that applies with the dreamworld and being aware, but for me it feels almost like the waking world. Im making choices for myself, within the dream and not allowing the subconscious mind to make the choices for me. This is the beauty of Lucidity. It brings your dominate train of thinking to the forefront and you are able to do as you wish, (with enough belief).

You can have very real dream that are not lucid. As they said the trick is to know your dreaming though. If you think to yourself "This must be a dream" then its a lucid dream. If you never thought it was a dream then chances are it wasn't but you may have got really close.

If it is true what they are saying - that a Lucid Dream is simply when you know you are dreaming, or you say "I am dreaming", then I had one when I was a kid (about 7 or 8 I think!): I remember waking up out of my bed, walking into the hallway, seeing my Dad in my (then) sister's doorway and saying "hang on a minute" to which I pinched myself ... didn't feel anything ... and said "this is a dream - I better get back to bed" and thus went back to bed!

However I believe (as my memory tells me this happened to me last week) it is possible to go beyond this and actually have full control over your dreams and be amazed at how realistic it is (apparently to the point that you can actually smell, touch and hear things as if you were there!), although this only happened for a minute - then I was distracted and woke up!

Hopefully we will both experience this before long!
