      I Finally Flew!!

This is totally a brag thread

But it's also a big thank you to the forum for continually grabbing my attention and focusing it in on my dreams. Visiting this forum keeps me thinking about dreams... Thank you to everyone!

I've have had lucid moments before, but I was either not thinking about flying or too inexperienced to even know what to do. Not this morning, this morning I knew I was lucid, saw a screen door, backed out silently so no one would notice and jumped as high as I could go. Confirmed the dream by jumping higher then I ever possibly could in waking life. Took another running jump and touched the top of a tree, bingo! On my way down, decided not to land and air jumped higher... continuing to rise, started flying through and above the clouds. So.... so... so awesome.

      <--- Irremovable smile.

What blows me away, I have taken an "on purpose" break from lucid dreaming due to stress I had going on at work. I have not recorded anything into my dream journal or actively tried to remember my dreams these past 2 weeks, needing to put all my concentration into work. And of course... during this period is when I have my greatest feat of lucidity. Hah! Surprise!

Sounds like you made it. I've only flown once. Ever. I can easily leap tall buildings but gravity always pulls me down. It doesn't matter how much I "believe" I can fly, it doesn't work. There must be too gravity in my dream world .. like on Neptune. The good news is, I never walk in my LD's. I moon-walk float like those astronauts used to do on the surface of the moon.

I think that might be the reason you still have gravity, becuase you actually do believe there is gravity. Convincing yourself in a dream is no different then convincing yourself in waking life, it's not a matter of believing, it's knowing. Logic tells you there is no gravity in dreams, listen to logic! It's trustable.

I know, I know... dreams are the epitome of illogical.

      Who knows! Good luck!

nice, i just had a flying LD a few days ago. it just gives you the best feeling ever. i kinda failed though. id fly for like 10 seconds but it would be more like gliding, like the higher i go the father ill go, kindas like if you dropped and airplane while it was off but you could control which direction it could go. the laws of physics seem to still hold but ill try to break them in my next LD and try fully flying.

But then if I listen to logic, logic tells me that there's a reason why everybody and everything is anchored to the ground in a LD. Sticky stuff?
I'll try again but it's hard to explain why that giant 4 headed hippo over there
is wandering around the park instead of flying off into space.
