Thread: First (lasting) Lucid Dream!

This morning, I finally had my first WILD lucid dream that lasted longer than 3 minutes!

Sleep paralysis was the hardest part. I had to try several times to stay still long enough for it to sink in. Eventually, I started dreaming.

It was very hard to 'get out' of my body. By that, I mean, move my dream self without waking my real self. Luckily, a couple of dream characters talked me through it and I managed to get up. I was in my room, except it was much bigger and the ceiling was higher. I was very excited and I jumped in the air. To my surrise, I jumped much higher than I had planned and then slowly floated back down. I did this a couple more times as I struggled to gain control of my levitating/moon jumping .Another dream character appeared and helped me with this. It was really fun. I kept bumping my head against the top of the ceiling and giggling and overall, having a great time making a fool of myself. Eventually, I wanted to see the rest of the dream world outside my house. I thought it would be funny to take a towel with me in reference to 'A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.' So, I went up to my dream mom, who was in her office, and asked her where the towels were. She said, "Not now. We have to go soon." I didn't really care, since it was a dream and I wasn't inclined to listen, so I walked away, intending to go find a towel. I wasn't even out of the room, when I noticed a picture of my mom in a frame. Wanting to get a better look, I squinted one eye, but unfortunately, this caused me to open an eye in real life and I woke up.

I haven't stopped smiling all morning. That levitating part was so fun!

I wish I had in-dream assistance during my first few lucids. Just out of curiousity, what did they say to you?

They said things like, "Okay, you just need to get up really fast and light." and "Okay you got your torso and arms out, so now you just need to ease your legs out." and "Okay, just move out of the bed and you're free."

They probably said more that I just don't remember.
