      Finally happened, my first LD..Epic!

      Hey,

A few months back, I read some stuff on LD and OBE (Out of Body Experiences) and tried meditating for about a week straight before giving up. (What a failure.. I know!)

Now back to the present, for the past 5 days or so, I've been keeping a Dream Journal to work on my recall. Today, halfway through class, I got so damn sleepy I could barely stay awake. I rushed home, and started taking a nap on the living room sofa. There was family talking, TV on, phone ringing, so it was hard to get into a deep sleep (Which worked to my benefit I think).

After an unknown amount of time, I have a dream where I am somehow at my moms place, and in the garage where my family is complaining about my sisters dog and baby giving them trouble all day. I remember being surprised at this, because my sisters dog and baby should be at their own house right now. Then I see a girl in the garage that I knew a couple years ago from high school. "Hey, what the hell are you doing here!?" I ask her, "Is this real, this must be a dream, you should be in Canada right now!" (I live in the states). She laughs, and says something and walks off.

Sometime soon after that, I felt like I was starting to slip off the couch, I was too tired to even care to try to reposition myself. I then felt like someone in my family thought it would be funny to grab my leg and start dragging me, then as I am being dragged backwards, my consciousness takes a shit and I realize I'm starting to see images form in my mind. I open my eyes and see that I'm in a dream.

      The Lucid Dream

I'm on some sort of childish looking roller coaster taking me on a tour of what seems to be a bunch of Disney movies. "Great", I think, my first LD is spent on looking of posters of the Lion King. I touch the signs as I pass and it feels so real, I decide I want something more exciting and suddenly appear in what seems like down town New York.

I am with 3 other guys that I apparently know in my dream, they are about to board a bus and I tell them "Don't ask me how I know, but don't get on that bus, it's going to get hit"

Only one of the guys listens to me, and starts running in the opposite direction as I do. I turn around and see something heavy being thrown at the bus (SWEET! I'm Lucid Dreaming in a Cloverfield scene!)

People start running every way possible, and I decide to test out flying. I've heard that it's tough at first, but I grabbed the hand of the DC in front of me and just decided to fly. We both take off and I get about 10 seconds of air time before I start getting excited and start losing control.

I run into a building and remember that in Cloverfield, there are little bug things that attack people. Since everything feels so realistic, I get a little worried. I decide I need some sort of protection but don't know how to exactly get it. I start spinning in circles really fast and imagine myself having a big suit of futuristic armor. It works, and the little bug shits can't get to me, awesome.

As I fight off the bugs, this hottie runs by and I realize "Hey! I can sleep with her without putting effort into it! So the scenario shifts to her saying something to me, and grabbing my hand and leading me into some sort of restaurant. As I walk by, I notice a some people that I knew back in high school a couple years ago. (This is my dream sign I believe, as every single dream I've recorded in my DJ has had someone from my high school in it

She leads me to a table, where more people I know make room for us to get to the far end side near the wall, suddenly she's under the table grabbing at my belt. She's having trouble so just as I start to help her, I feel the dream fading away....shit! What a tease!

Nice first LD and congrats. My first one was short, but, you can read about it in my DJ. So, what did you think? Sounds like you had a blast. In an LD, it's important to realize that the dream works on belief and using a passive method is the better one. For example, you wanted that armor, say that behind that door, I'll find an armor and believe that you will. Open the door and you'll find it. This method is much better than forcing yourself to have one because it doesn't destabilize the dream

Thanks for the tip, and it definitely makes sense.

When I wanted to fly, I just thought to myself "This is a dream, so I can fly!" and I took off. Yet I forced the Armor on myself, although this time it didn't seem to distabalize the dream, but definitely a tip to remember.

I was quite surprised at how long it lasted actually, even during the experience, several times I remembered thinking "Man, this is longer than the usual 3-10 second first LD's I've read about."

And yes, I did have a blast and think it's awesome. My main goal with LD's is to be able to do it at will, and be able to dream up a multi million dollar studio and compose music while I sleep. I remember, a couple times I've had dreams where I make the most perfect instrumental, just soudns amazing!, yet when I woke up I could never remember what it even sounded like.

I now understand how people can easily get obsessed with Lucid Dreaming, however, I'll try to be more passive about it, as I am a student and can't afford to lose sleep and miss classes.

      Great lucid dream!

And I love your typo in the sentence:

"then as I am being dragged backwards, my consciousness takes a shit"

Awesome first LD! Really cool. Cloverfield was bomb, too.

You have this journey in the Dream World and I don't even know if my first Lucid was real.

Congrats, sounds like a fun time.
