      tip for flying

during your waking life, go swimming, go on swings and jump off, and practice gymnastics or extreme rollerblading where you are jumping onto/off of things. Also, when you get to the top of stairs, try to jump over them and all the way to the bottom. Go on some upside down rollercoasters too. I have done these things many times in my life. Also, jump off high things in your dreams. Pretend you are swimming in the air. These are some things to help you fly in dreams if you don't know how.

i also read in another thread that it helps to fly in a standing or sitting position, whereas being horizontal and "swimming" is more sluggish. i think i can relate because i really like heights, so i don't have any mental blocks against flying.

you could also do that thing where you run and jump onto a big velcro pad !

for me at least, swim-flying isn't slow at all. However most times when I fly I don't need to do that at all, I fly a lot in dreams. I am always flying parallel to the ground, or at an angle facing the ground if I am going up or down

Its funny, one of my first lucid dreams, my first very lucid dream when I realized I was dreaming I thought hey I can fly, I spread my arms and away I went. Since then flying never crossed my mind.
