Eyes opened at least halfway but body paralyzed

man this was a scary experience luckilly it only lasted for about 5 seconds

anyways i got some awareness (like the kind right before you go lucid) and i see a clock and i am telling myself im in a dream and i try to turn my head in the dream but nothing happens so i feel like im shaking my head in the dream but im paralyzed i see that the clock says 6:59 then my body becomes unparalyzed and i realize that i was actually looking at the clock in real life with my eyes partially open but the rest of my body was shut down

      freaked me out

I just read about sleep paralysis today, I didn't know what it was. Luckily your experience was short.

yeah your breathing your brain just kinda cuts off the pathway for your body to be able to move

if you werent paralyzed while dreaming you would act out your dreams and hurt yourself and stuff

My lucid dreams recently have been where I am SUPER close to the dream world and I start swinging around my arms or moving to pull myself into it, and I can feel them trying to move but not being able to in real life and then I'm in the dream!

i was talking about this the other day ive had sleep paralysis all my life it was worst when i was young though im lying there and theres no dream just blackness and i cant move i cant SEEM to breath which is really frightening or at least it used to be before i learned to just chill out during sleep paralyisis the best thing to do is relax and just think of waking up and you will in a minute or so and also remember you are breathing and if your holding your breath (non deliberately kind of making it more real ) you will wake up if you dont get air after about 30 seconds because ofcourse its a reflex

One can also turn a sleep paralysis into a lucid dream. I would go for that

This happens to me alot during the summer. Ya'll should know that I sleep during the day and not the night. Anyways, I'll wake up all hot and sweaty, cause it gets hot here, and I can't move at all. Just stuck lying in bed looking at the fan. I want to get up and turn the ac down to make it cooler, but I can't move. Half the time I fall back asleep, the other half, I can move 5 seconds later.

This happens to me sometimes, and it's pretty frustrating because my eyes open and I think "Goodo, I must be in the dream then. I guess I'll just get up--Oh it's not a dream, DAMNIT!" And so then the process must begin again. I find that this only happens when I attempt WILD when I first go to sleep, not WBTB method.
