      2nd LD!

Woo, well it started off with a really vivid dream, there was a girl round mine and we was going to, well, u know , the dream was everything leading up to it, and it must have been like 30 mins or so in dream time. The dream did feel so real, and I was thinking I was going to tell my friends what happened etc, everything was in the greatest of detail. As the girl was in the bathroom, I remembered to get some 'protection' from downstairs, as I went downstairs I noticed something odd, that there was a pile of furniture for some reason blocking the stairs... looked at my hand (it's the only reality check I do, even though rarely), and some of my fingers were flickering! Thought great I'm lucid!, what shall I do... decided to carry on with what would have happened in the dream, but for some reason it just kinda faded away!

Any ideas what to do to prevent this? I guess I should've started shouting verbal commands or something straight away.

Well, usually having a goal of some sort (at least when you're a beginner) definitely helps
The other thing is that you needed to spin, or shout out.

Or perhaps you were at the end of your REM cycle, and you were screwed anyway
(well, short of going back into the dream)

I didn't feel the dream ending, I simply lost lucidity within a few seconds of gaining it and dream continued! Oh well!

Sounds like a 'motivation in the dream' problem
Make sure you have something you want to do in your lucid dream
