I was not yet lucid dreaming that I was placing beacons that made this force field with a grid that I could see. I came to a point where the force field formed a vortex similar to the Earth's magnetosphere at a pole. Where the vortex converged there was a tree, and as I approached it it burst into flames. I started to run back to the beacons to turn them off and became lucid. I realized I didn't need to run and could simply fly over to them, but decided instead to practice my teleportation (still haven't done so successfully). After failing on the first try I decided to stand in front of an oncoming car thinking I would be forced to teleport to avoid being hit. I counted down backwards from 3 expecting to teleport at 1, but instead got hit by the car. My face was mashed against the windshield and the driver looked up at me like I was insane but kept driving.
