This is pretty incredable. First off, I want to state that I have just recently heard there was a name, a whole philosophy about what I've been accidentally doing in my dreams for years! I love this site, as I continue to read and read the site, and posts too. Up until now, I always thought what I had done was pretty unique, as none of my friends beleive me or anything...
Ever since I was really little (well not real little, maybe like 8 or so) I could be dreaming and sometimes realise this. I could do what ever I wanted, I always woke up really happy. Usually it's not too crazy, but it comes in handy just sleeping and iterrupting a nightmare, or especially, when I know I'm dreaming, I interrupt whats happening, or not even really interrupt, but I hear a voice that sounds just like me, like i'm thinking, and I can narrate my thoughts while everythings happening (Most often saying things like "Oh crap, i bet it's like 8 in the morning, I missed my bus..." and then wake myself up saying "Gotta wake up.") It's so strange. And what's really weird is that I think your brain can keep a semi-accurate clock, based on sleep patterns or something, because I'm always really close on the times, I even guessed withing 5 minutes of one time, and it was a complete sleep, never looking at the clock once... just another really nifty thing.
Often if I really like a dream, I can be interrupted, then days later decide that I want to continue it (all in my sleep)... and I'll pick up where I left off (This tends to be really hard, but I've done it a few times). I've even had things happen where I could hear my mom waking me up, and the "screen" will literally go black saying "To be continued" which really didn't seem good because it was a nightmare, but surely enough, it did continue the next night, just after I got run over by a tank toting nazi (how I even knew of nazis or anything is beyond me, at age 9). I ended up with a mechanical arm, that I completely designed myself in my sleep! This sounds insane, but I can vivedly remember it, and I surely don't claim to be some expert, but I think this is really cool.
I know this was long, and this is my first post ever on this, but it's really neat knowing I'm not alone... I haven't yet been able to force myself to have a dream I want (other than sometimes continueing other dreams, perhaps because I'm not that creative) but I'd love to be able to find out how, and like I said, I'm doing a lot of research now; Don't know why I never have tried looking it up before...
Just wanted to holler at you all, and I'm going to continue reading by the way, I'm 17 now, incase anyone was wondering due to the ages I listed earlier, and sorry this is so long
Edit: Oh no, I completely forgot my most mind blowing sleep eneaver yet! I had moved to Baltimore, MA, and I completely didn't know the place, I was about 10. I had an OBE, I swear it, and I flew all over my neighborhood, reading signs, looking at houses, etc. and I noticed something imparticular: A carved pumpkin on someone's steps outside. One day when we were driving, I in the backseak and parents up front, I was just staring out the car window... my stomach turned when I noticed that same color house, with a rotted (starting to anyway, you know how they get, all mushy looking, starting to cave in) right there! In the same place, same house and everything. I couldn't remember street names from my dream, but I looked frantically at the signs hoping to remember something, but to no avail... that's still the coolest thing I can remember about that all...
Just had to throw that in
