      Unhappy Lucid Dreamer since childhood

Hi, I'm new to this website, or any dream discussion website, but I have been a lucid dreamer since childhood (I am now 19). For me lucid dreaming came suddenly during one horrific nightmare, and never left. I lucid dream almost 100% of the time, and lately have been wondering if there is any harm in this.

I have excessive daytime sleepiness, and though I am sure there are other factors involved, sometimes I wonder about my lucid dreaming and how it effects my sleep. I feel there must be some effect of bringing the consciousness into the subconscious world, at a time when that part of your brain is meant to be resting? (Especially if, like me, you no longer know how to turn off lucid dreaming)

Does anyone feel the same way? Or have any thoughts about why we dream?

I'm sorry, I know it's bad to be tired all the time.

For me lucid dreaming is exhasting after a while. I've noticed that I feel like I haven't rested as much after having several lucid dreams as I would if I hadn't had the lucids. Maybe being lucid too much is definately causing you fatigue.

But, though I can understand that you always become lucid, I'm surprised that you can't get involved in the plot of the dream and just forget about it. There must be some way to sort of "loose yourself" in it. Kind of like the way you can watch T.V. and get so wrapped up in the plot that you almost don't notice that you're sitting there.

Perhaps it could be beneficial for you to do things like strike up conversations with various dream characters, etc.

I have lucid dreams every now and then. But practically because My dreams are so real to me every night that I sometimes get confused whether I'm awake or not.

Well Lucid Dreaming makes you a bit more tired I heard. Maybe if you want to get rest in your lucid dream make a bed appear and sleep xD.
