urm maybe if the tone was a bit deafing you should just sleep and don't try if you get my meaning don't try to have a lucid dream just sleep and then it may be lucid if you get what i mean............. |

I have never had a lucid dream, and last night I was trying really hard. In one dream, I suddenly consentrated very hard on "waking up", becoming aware in the dream. Then, I heard a loud, high tone in my ears and woke up. I was sleep-paralised, but, after a few minutes, swallowed (I read somewhere it sanps you out of it) and could mave. As soon as I could move the tone stopped. |

There is a very simple explanation for this. I have been LDing for a while now and I have had my share of WILDs. Basically you said you woke up and could not move? You also stated hearing a strange sound. You were simply in sleep paralysis. There is nothing scary about this as it is a normal function except we are normally asleep when it takes place. The effects of sleep paralysis vary from hallucinations to sounds. One effect that always takes place is stiffness. Lets go down the check list of whether or not you were in sleep paralysis based on the information you provided. Stiffness/heaviness (X), Hearing voices or other types of sounds (X), hallucinations ( ). You did not mention having hallucinations, but then again not everyone has them when they go into sleep paralysis. It seems like you simply were in sleep paralysis and swallowed to get out. The sound was nothing more but an effect. |

Reality is what you make it. Why not make it a dream?
