I am standing in the dairy section of my local grocery store. I turn around and begin walking to check out when I suddenly catch a glimpse of a green chair sitting at the end of the cereal aisle. I stare for a moment. It's not any green chair, it's MY green chair. The one I sit in when I play video games! What's it doing in a grocery store, I wonder? I look over my shoulder. Where the dairy section was is now a bunch of aisles. That can't be right, I thought to myself. Then it hit me. I was dreaming. For the first time, I had caught myself dreaming! I told myself to calm down. I soun around a bit, but my environment kept morphing, like some twisted grocery store maze. I finally decide that this is as clear as it will get, and I might as well summon something. I think to myself, "around the next corner will be someone I know." I turned the corner, and there was a friend from school. She asked me what I was doing here. I didn't know what to say, so I turned and ran, willing someone else who I knew better to appear. ended up in a furniture aisle with a flickering image of my ex-girlfriend. I finally realized that I needed to get out of that grocery store. I convinced myself that the next door I walked through would lead me into my bedroom. I did just that, successfully. I laid down on my bed to get my bearings, and the dream slowly ended.
