Reoccuring Nightmares brought on by stress and anxiety.

Recently I have had the task of trying to find new work. This means endless filling out of resumes, schedualing interviews, and making endless phone calls to weed out the phonies from the proffesional companies. This whole opperation started to induce high levels of stress and anxiety. At night I would fall asleep and the higher my anxiety the more vivid the nightmare. I enjoy a scary movie here and there and I do not mind gore but from my expirience a nightmare vs an anxiety induced nightmare is very different. For me personally an anxiety induced nightmare is much vivid and much more you can say out of your own control. I get that feeling of my stomach sinking and adrenaline beggining to pump, like sitting in a race car with no exits. Same feeling you might get if you see a wild animal running at you. Everything gets louder, everything gets more intense, almost like your senses are hightened with in the dream state.

Anyone expiriencing the same issues with anxiety and sleep?

      :The Nightmare:
(This is a reoccuring nightmare but it never loses its edge. Like I said I enjoy scary movies and I dont mind nightmares but with anxiety introduced into the mix its a whole different experience.)

It begins at night. In a house. Its always night and always the same house, tall ceilings, double door entries into the rooms, white walls. I am with someone but I never really see their faces. We start off on the second floor because when I look out the windows I always see tree branches instead of the ground level. We start walking through the hallsways from room to room. As we walk I get that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I get the feeling of something approaching, something watching us. As if an invisible force. We start checking the hallways and everything begins to tremble. We start seeing a small shadow running around. It keep appearing in the dark doorways. We start to run as if trying to evade whatever is chasing us. We run into a room and open the closet and thats when it appears, its some sort of dark figure. By this time everything is trembling we feel it moving from place to place. We turn around and try to escape the room. We run towards the door and before we can turn to the door way it finally appers to us. I look it right in the face, its a small girl with long hair dark hair, a pale face covered by the darkness making it look gray, the moment I make eye contact she opens her mouth and out comes a screech. I can almost feel her scream in my bones. We start to run but its no use. The house is trembling, items are falling off the walls and items are flying off the shelves. As we are running down the halls we hear one screech after another. I feel her traveling from place to place as if she is focused on me.
Its no use, there are no exits we are stuck on this infinit second floor. I awake...

I'd say use this monster as your dream sign. Recognize the nightmare as being a dream you can control.
