      Nightmare and reality synchronicities?

Last night, I had a nightmare about spiders.

I'm not generally afraid of spiders, but I find it hard to understand what they mean. They RARELY appear in my dreams, but when they do, I'm usually not afraid. I deduced that when I'm not afraid of them, they stand for 'controlled fear', or eliminating a stressful situation by confronting it (like when you're killing a spider in your house).

But last night, I was pretty frightened by them. They were laying eggs on the walls, and the females were cannibalizing the males as soon as they saw them. The spiders themselves were about palm-sized and black with some white hairs.

Then tonight, while in bed watching something on my laptop with my boyfriend, a spider dangled down from the ceiling right in front of my face. This prompted me to freak out, throwing my laptop at my boyfriend whose arachnophobia exceeds my mine.

I felt terrible and had to apologize to him and explain my sudden 'flight' reaction in relation to my nightmare last night.

What's the significance of dream and reality synchronicities?

One random nightmare usually doesn't mean anything. All it means is that you are a normal human being and it happens to the best of us. However, if it is a recurring dream than it probably has some hidden meaning.

Well, I'm not talking about nightmares in general. I'm talking about nightmares and reality synchronicities, like symbols from nightmares appearing in waking life.

I had another spider dream out of the blue the other night. This time, I was sleeping in bed and these spiders kept crawling up my body and biting me. I kept whacking them, and my arm started swelling up. It was unnerving.

Today while chilling on the couch, a spider crawled up the couch and started running at me full speed alarming me enough that I nearly chucked my laptop as I launched off the couch.

Seriously starting to think spiders mean something important.
