      recurring dream Black wolf

Over the span of my life I have had very few nightmares all of which were very mild in nature( wasps attacking, jaguar attacking, tomahawks flying at me out of a waterfall). However a couple of years after I finished high school and I was living at my dads I began to have a new recurring nightmare which started out very mild. I am not someone who scares easily and i'm very cool under pressure. Generally not bothered by anything. I rarely cry or get agitated as I view all of these as being weak.

In my dream I am standing in the driveway of our old house at the top of the hill on a sunny day(always sunny) It is as I remember it before we moved. I notice a dark shadowy shape coming towards me. It is a wolf/dog which is about chest height maybe a bit smaller. The shadowy shape does not really look like a wolf or a dog except for the fact that it has a head body and walks on all fours(no eyes or mouth. It walks like it is a cloud (doesnt bounce up and down like the normal gait of a wolf or dog) it moves at medium pace towards me and the closer it gets the more scared I become. Meanwhile i'm just standing there able to move but just standing still. sometime it will veer off its course towards me. Or I will control it to do so when I realize i'm dreaming. If I control it to veer off I do not wake up. If it veers off on its own it will hang around but not attack me. Eventually I will wake up fairly scared but able to sleep. One night The nightmare began and the shadow wolf ran towards me and did not veer off just as it came close enough so that I could no longer see it (I dont move my head in the dream so it was almost hitting my legs) I woke up completely and utterly terrified out of my mind. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it, It felt like my heart would fail it was pounding so hard. Im a runner and Ive never felt anything like that. I was also wet with sweat and crying I was so scared. For three hours I couldn't calm down and I prayed to God to comfort me. For about A month I could not sleep in the dark and always had to have the lights on.

A few weeks after that I woke up feeling a presence on my left, I lashed out and it went away a week later the same presence but this time on my right side it felt so real I lashed out again and kicked the crap out of my office chair five or six times very hard as I was bleeding after. The presence that I felt, felt exactly like a person. I did not feel like I knew them It felt like a complete stranger. The presence went away. A few times after that the shadowy wolf/dog came back but it was like before that horrible nightmare no big deal.

The reason I was so scared that night is because the shadowy wolf felt like a bottomless black hole of sorrow anger and hate so intense that even just thinking about it can scare me. Its really the only thing that frightens me.

Since I moved out I have not had one of these dreams or presences at all. If anyone could offer any insight on that nightmare or the presences that'd be awesome.

It could be a sign. A sign of something intimidating you in the real world, that you have neglected to do something about.

Are there any negative people in your life who 'just thinking about can scare you'? if so, then this could be your inner-subconsciousness wanting you to deal with he/she.

P.S. Doesn't necessarily have to be a person, metaphorically speaking it could be an idea/goal or a reality you have set up on yourself in the real world.

No nothing really scares me so it wouldnt be a person or thing, how could it be a goal or expectation. I am a catholic and I dont always act and do as a good catholic should. So maybe being afraid of the devil or something lol?
