      How to beat a nightmare

I have had recurring nightmares in my life, and have found a way, (at least for me) to stop them.
When I wake up after having a nightmare, I write the nightmare down in the form of poetry.
And altho the recurring nightmare seems to always end the same, in the poem (at the end) I give the dream an ending.
At that point, I never have the recurring nightmare again.
I have had, in my life perhaps 10/15 recurring type nightmares.
When I write a poem about this nightmare, and give it a final ending, I never have it again.
Now, when I have a nightmare, I simply write a poem about it, give it a happy ending, and for the past several years, have never had one that has reoccurred.
Now this may not work for you, but for me, I never have recurring nightmares anymore.

That's a very unique way to approach such a large problem. I must say, I find it quite interesting and can't wait to try it out. It seems liked the kind of thing that would work for me too. Thanks for sharing!
