      Lost love

I hope this is the right place to post this. I've been having the same dream for about 4 years, they happen weekly, not every night, and I want them to stop.

      I hope I don't sound too corny.

      I'm 20 years old, 21 this week
About 4 years ago I started having dreams of me falling in love with girls, but never anyone specific, the dreams make the people for me. It's never anyone I know.

Now why would I want these dreams gone? They sound pretty good right? Well, not really.

Every day I wake up with the feeling of a broken heart, I wake up as if the person were real and she's just vanished, gone, everything about her has left my life, and it hurts more than anything. There are even times when she, whoever she may be, dies at the end of my dream before I wake up. And again, I wake up with the feeling that the love of my life has just died, and is gone forever.

I don't know how to cope with this, it's a terrible feeling to have all the time.

I guess I'm just hoping for some suggestions, I don't know what else I can do, It's nearing the point where I just try not to sleep so I don't have to feel that pain, I'll stay up to 72 hours sometimes just to avoid it.

I'd used to have these dreams when I was still in the single-digits. They pretty much ruined my whole day.

Basically I still have them time after time, except it's this one crush I haven't seen in 2-3 years. Just seeing her in a dream makes me happy, because I really liked her. Like you, it's the part of waking up that really kills my day.

My own advice is to try and get a girlfriend, you know? The dreams might continue, but surely you won't be disappointed in the morning because you already have a girlfriend in real life anyway. Just a bit of my own advice.

      Question Past Life? Missing friend?

It sounds almost like a past life memory. Especially that part where you said the girl dies in your dreams.

What else happens in this dream?

If it's not a past life memory, it could be your subconscious trying to tell you something. Is there a female figure who disappeared from your life shortly before this recurring dream began? Maybe the different girls in your dreams represent different aspects of the afore said female figure's presonality that you miss. Also the death of one of the girls symbolises her disappearance and how badly you miss her or that aspect of her.

All of the above are just guesses. Sorry I couldn't really help.

Have you had any previous break-ups with anyone you really liked? If the girls in your dream are dying, like Subaru said, it could be depending on a past-life memory. Normally my love dreams just end like that, and I feel really bummed out that it ended.

I haven't any real advice for you, but I can relate a bit to the feeling when you wake up. When I have really good dreams, I dream of things like psychic powers, or going to a new school that I actually like and meeting a whole bunch of awesome girls. While the dream is in progress, I genuinely think it is reality. When I wake up, I go "Wait.....IT WAS ALL A DREAM!" and then get really disappointed because things THIS awesome just don't seem to happen to me in real life.

When I have good dreams like that, they are normally about something that I desire, eg. Money, being with someone, fame, list goes on. I wake up... crap.
