      Nightmares as a kid

I really miss having nightmares, not that I enjoyed them when I was little, but most of the dreams I have now are boring and forgetable. I had really weird dreams as a kid, like I was lying in bed (in my dream), and saw my mum, dad and brother standing over me near my bed, staring at me wide eyed as if their minds had shut down but were still alive. At that point I tried to move but I couldn't, as if the gravity had gone up 10x. Then I tried to shout and scream, but nothing came out. That dream scared me because it was so weird. One really bad dream I recall was when I was probably 5. I was lying in my bed under the covers (as I used to do when I was a kid), and so I got my face out of the covers cuz I felt like I needed the toilet, but still lying in bed. Then I see what looks like a 70 or 80 yr old man in my room about 3 metres away from me in ragged clothes, had white messy hair, goat-like horns coming out sideways from his head, was wearing this old yellowish hat and was holding a candle in pitch black. He then stared walking very slowly towards me while I was sitting on the bed, wide-eyed and half-opened his mouth saying "uhhhhhhhhh", at that point I went under the covers and screamed and woke up shit scared. I don't know why, but I thought of him as the bogie man. I really miss having those sorts of dreams. Besides watching horror films, what ways are there to get nightmares before you go to bed?

i don't see any reason you couldn't have a lucid and just "ask" to have a nightmare. maybe say out loud, "i wonder why i don't have nightmares anymore?"

i guarantee you'll have one then. well, maybe i don't GUARANTEE, but i think it's very, very likely that would do the trick.
