      Maslow

Obviously someone read Maslow. There are eight stages before the finalization of personality, in the late teens. That doesn't make your generalizations less valid. I'm actually in that stage were I have to choose to live another way, or die this way. When you stop growing, you might as well be dead, but your body is too stupid to realize you're useless and unnecessary.

Stage theories are not only severely limited, but the 'bashing' of stage theories has led to some of the most remarkable discoveries of modern psychology.

      Growing

Growing is the only way to grow. We have to stub our toe a few times before we avoid the table.
