What are your thoughts on Life and Death, Existance as a whole.

Life is a Death sentence. Life is the slowest way one can die. What do we do with this gift, or "desease" (depending on how you look at it) called life? Whats it worth?

What about Death? What happens when we die? How do you view death? Do you fear it?

Personally I look foreward to death. Why? No one really knows what happens when we die. Wether we go up to some being in the sky, walk the earth aimlessly, dream for eternity, or just plain cease to exist... no one truely knows. The only people who know are the ones who have died. The dead being, well, just that, can't actually tell us what happens. This means, that the one valuable peice of knowledge that we all search for, but can never hold, can only be attained when we die. The dead know something we living will never know. So wether any religion is right, or wether there is no existance of a diety, is answered when we die. Upon death, we learn what truely lies beyond. But its a secret we will always hold, and never be able to share.

Death is inevitable anyway, so it might as well be embraced. There should be no reason to fear death either. If its all Christianity, we go to heaven and enjoy something better. Buddhism, Nirvana. Or you are reborn and live life again. If there is nothing past it, we cease to exist, and thus any feelings we may have go with it. We would not suffer, we would not care. So in any case, there is, in my opinion, no reason to fear death. I look foreward to it, and getting that one peice of knowledge we all strive for.

Dont get me wrong, I love life. Its great. I enjoy life, I enjoy the people around me, and I enjoy the things I can do with this gift I have. So though I look foreward to death, I be sure to make the most out of the trip. Live each day to the fullest, and enjoy what I've been given.

What are your views on the subject?

<Despite Religious examples, this is NOT a religious topic. I do NOT want this turned into a religious debate>

Well, unless you believe in hell or lower levels of energy after death... those don't sound pleasant.

In my case, I believe I've lived many past lives, and have grown weary of living as is, but for some reason, it feels like I can't die, I can feel extreme pain, but no relief from life.

Not that I hate it, but because I feel the ages, I really have no interest in continuing to be reborn. Makes me wonder if there is a way to break the cycle, but I don't think everyone gets reborn, only those who are not ready to goto the next stage. Or many the ones who are cursed to live in this cycle did something long ago.

I dunno, not afraid of death, more annoyed with rebirth.

well if you do cease to exist how do you know your dead?? When i think of this it totally go's over my head and i start to think of questions . imagine nothing, now most people will think of darkness, but this is something. So imagine not existing for eternity! that's wired. well i think it is.

Theres only one thing you can be sure of when you die and thats, that your never comming back here. So you better take in everything while your here, you only get one shot. It possible your soul could live for a million years and if you miss something here on earth, you may never see it again.

I wouldn't say I am scared of death, because really theres no way to escape it, but I don't want to see what is at the end. I am not ready and I probably never will be. Theres just to much to do being alive.

Sometimes, you just know. I also have flashbacks and used to speak other languages in my sleep. I do remember parts from years back.

The thing is, I'm weary from having to experiance the same everyday pains that everyone goes through, imagine going through all the bad times in life, again and again. Not pleasant is it?

Its part of the reason I came to these forums.. I used to have very deep lucid dreams, and it turns out that many things I dreamed about turned out to be actual events. Sometimes when I visit places or see pictures of them, I know the area, the layout, everything without even stepping foot there.

So yeah sure, if you believe that we are just a body without a soul, then maybe you can say "blank slate", but since a soul does not die with the body, and in my case, my experiance points to a pre-existance, the "blank slate" idea doesn't apply

Though the theory of evolution I reason: Life has no objective goal, yet subjectively we can just have all the fun we want. And if we die, it ends.

when we die, we sleep the sleep of death.

There is nothing. Good and Bad alike will sleep with unimaginable peace, till it is time to wake.

That isn't the Christian view, you go straight to heaven about 90% or more of the Christians think.

Also, you are contradiction yourself. You say sleep is something without good or bad, so it's pretty much neutral. Yet you say it has 'unimaginable peace'. That is a positive thing, good thing. Like when you are in deep sleep, you don't notice anything, so you can't be 'peacefull'. So would your theory be a likely one, it would still be flawed.

ye gods, Neruo! THat is not what the Bible says! JUst becasue some people didn't read the Bible when saying something dosn't make it the Christian beleif.

So you agree 90% of the Christians are full of shit then?

Because I pointed out a contradiction in your oppinion? Really, you are extremely biased if you even think the stage after death and before going to heaven / hell (or anihilation like in your topic) is all happy happy joy joy.

that is not quite the percentage, and they are not all wrong, but in some cases of what the Bible says and dosn't ... yes.

Because I pointed out a contradiction in your oppinion?
[/b]
what contradication? I said there is nothing, hence "peace".
Dreamless sleep is inherently nutril. You experiance nothing. No fear, no pain and no anger.
That is peace.

It isn't anihilation. God's will is for all to be saved. Once more, I say that Death is peace.

You do not really want to to seek out Everytime you said 'well... The people that Think That aren't Real christians. You have said that at least 5 time, maybe even close to 10.

How many procent of the Christians Do suck according to you?

what contradication? I said there is nothing, hence "peace".[/b]
You mean to say that the word 'peace' has no positive ring to it in your ears? Peace is a thing , a subjective thing that you notice, that you consieve.

At least agree that your choice of words ('peace&#39 was wrong. But I don't think you really meant to use those words as a neutral term.

lol.

God doesn't want all to be saved.

Luke 12:10
Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Mark 3:29
Whosoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.

And that are just new-tesament parts. The old testament is more like: 'Unbelievers must all die and god hates them'.

Are you for real, saying god wants all to be saved? Read the bible man, read it for real.

Neruo! I asked that this did NOT get turned into a religious discussion. Keeper said nothing to instigate a religious argument. Put aside your vendetta against our beliefs.

Keeper, though you didnt start it, I ask that you dont continue it.

I'm slightly afraid of death in that I think I'm afraid of the pain of it, of physical pain, of emotional pain - of it all. I'm also afraid of what is next.

Even if there is nothing at first, no after-life, an infinite amount of time will go by very quickly from our point of view, so something has to happen eventually - another form of concious existance I believe. I mean think about it, 15 billion years went by in our universe before we existed, and what did that feel like to us - absolutely nothing. I mean think about it... 15 billion years!

It's really the unknown that I'm afraid of. I believe in God, I've also had what seemed like real OBEs, but that still doesn't make what happens after death "known" at all.

But hey, I'm happy I have the chance and eventually will have experienced life. I think it is completely worth the trade off.

I'll pull this straight from Neruo's sig: The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

None of you, including myself, know about what's going to happen when and after death comes. The only thing we can do is speculate and believe in different ideas that seem likely possibilities. To be perfectly honest, I'm excited to experience whatever comes after death. I want enlightenment terribly, and by this I simply mean that I am thirsty for true and absolute knowledge. Living within this prison of a world is sickening to me, so the day I can move on will be a joyous day indeed.

I believe I and all life will never cease to exist. When I'm dead, I believe I will take another shape. It may be seemingly empty air, a dog, a tree, water or something completely unknown that I could never think off.

sort of like reincarnation, but only after there is no-one left?

Yeah, just like that, what do you think of death...
I see it as...nothingness, like you don't exist anymore....and so I'm not bothered about it.
How do you see it?

And sorry if this has been dicussed before
