      Lying in my bed, thinking...

I was lying in bed, about to go to sleep, but could'nt. I started to wonder in thought about the meaning of life. I thought for about an hour, about whats this life is ment for. I've had two OBE, so, I believe in the astral worlds. So I thought, what if this life is just a training course, and if you fail in one life to complete training, you live another pysical life. The point is to reconize that every thing you do, and that every action you take, is an action of the mind, not your true spirit. To try to "train your spirit". Emotions, love, hate, sadness ext, are actions of the spirit. The unexplainible things in life, are actions of the spirit. Time is an elusion, created by the minds. Before this life, there were other chalenges, and after this one, there will be more, and then we will face the ultiment prize, Heaven. But not as we see it. It would be a place where there is no hate, and everyone would love each other. There would be no bordom, because the elusion of time would be gone. We would witness unlimited new emotions, and it would be the most wonderful thing ever! So thats what I thought, lying in my bed, looking at the cieling.

It's not my belief about life, it was just a thought.

I'm curious..how can there be love without hate? Without the bitter, the sweet ain't as sweet
You look like me, but you talk like a stranger...

yep and after a few million years of having what you want in this 'perfect world' youd get sick and tired of it. after all there is only so much you can do before you start going insane, having done everything there is to do,a few hundred times.

like some people might get bored of being in a lucid dream if thats all they did for eternity (and eternity is a mighty big word there)

Naw, heaven would be perfect. And the sweet would be just as sweet b/c we've lived through the hate of the world, or worlds that we lived in. It will be sweet for everyone there b/c it's an implicit understanding that we all had to go through the bitter in order to get to the heavenly sweetness.

Heaven will be like living in a dream. We couldn't possibly get bored.

When I die, I believe God will allow me to read endlessly in the Library of Heaven which has the knowledge to ANY mystery that humans know of in our world. I can't wait until I'm allowed to know all the secrets of aliens, parallel universes and anything else when I get to heaven.

hehe, once I did similar thing.... laying on bed, thinking... on psychoactives

Well, many thoughts were circulating in my head... one was particulary interesting":

Knowing the power of the mind to visualize, what if you are just a baby in ur mother's womb, learning and living in a dreamlike inviroment, getting ready to be born in a "real" world?

Ya, but about the bored thing, mabey bordom and time is a ilusion of the mind.
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
      - Albert Einstein
"We're so engaged in doing things to achieve purposes of outer value that we forget the inner value, the rapture that is associated with being alive, is what it is all about."
      -Joseph Campbell
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilisation should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."

      This is buddhism!

The seperation of the spirit from earthly constraints, to gain a higher existence (higher existence = better world ie heaven)

I think (from what I've read) there are 8 different worlds for one to go through in 'life'. In the first worlds, one must complete tasks which we would consider easy. I can't remember what they were exactly, but it might have been stuff like giving gifts or not being greedy. Then as you progress, they are things like abolishing suffering from yourself.

Yeah... so you reach the final world, what some might call Nirvana, where you are free from the constraints of your body.

      ...thinking...

That's one of my favorite things to do. I'm never bored, simply because my mind is spinning always, like a centrifuge. If I'm not daydreaming, I'm contemplating the possibilities! I have a very entertaining inner universe!

The meaning of life? I've wondered about that myself a hundred times. I gave up trying to figure that one out because the word 'life' speaks for all things around us and I'm hardly in the position to speak for other characters. Does the beasts of the earth debate the existence of the fish in the sea?

Is life bootcamp before the final phase? Why not? Life is a precious and extraoridnary gift, nonetheless. I try not to ignore that. I do believe that each of us breathes for one reason or another and as individuals, each of us has our own purpose. To quote Agent Smith "...it is purpose that defines..."

These days, I ask myself... what is my purpose? Why was I put on this earth? What can I do to make a difference while I'm here? I think I'll be chewing on these questions for quite a while...
I have become an angel this night, bearing wishes on pearly wings. While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas, into some enchanted, celestial ritual that turned me into a constellation...

I do this a lot, my mind is feeled with an idea, and one thought leads to another and such, and i develop such and such and theories and crap. Really this is helpful for me i solve a lot of problems this way, but i also start to think about something so much and get worried or something so...idk.

If you were not around to experience those other characters and their lives, would they even exist? To the individual, life is only about what he or she sees and experiences. How am I sure that my life isn't holding the essence of reality in place? In fact, to yourself, you are the universe. You have created your life and the lives around you with your interactions; either through viewing or participating. When you die, depending on what you believe, everything else will cease to exist for you are not around to experience it. If you do not have a mind to comprehend or perceive reality, then it really isn't there.

In the same vein, a rock does not know that there is a reality around it, and therefore itself isn't real. It is simply something that is there for us to look at and consider. Will that rock still be there if we don't know that it is there?

Bah, I've lost track of what my initial point was.

Anyhow, I believe we should be masters of ourselves and our lives. We shouldn't allow others to play the part of control or domination - and if such as situation becomes a reality, we should do everything in our power to overcome it. It is a reality now, in fact, and I hope to one day break free from it - as radical and ridiculous as that sounds.

We have so much power to exist, but we hardly take advantage of it. Instead we wait for a new life beyond this one; one that may not even manifest itself.

i suppose i rather agree with spicefiend on this one, to a degree, though i know i've had my own wondering moments late at night, and come up with a number of theories along similar lines. i don't truthfully know what to think of them so far as belief goes, but this reminded me of one.

i got to thinking once on the heaven idea about the boredom issue, cuz i truly see life as each thing is a new experience, a new way to look at things, a new way to live, and each moment is a precious gift to treasure and play with. i have a bad habit of scorning those, however, who work to find better and better things to treasure in life, to the point that they seem to forget the radomness that makes it so perfect. maybe i'm a freak, but personally, i like this place a lot better than most models of heaven that ppl have come up with; i wouldn't want the world to b any other way, as nasty as it is, and has been in the past.

anyhow, i started thinking that while i have that perception, the ability to think that, i know that generally ppl don't have the same view; i consider the world to b heaven, bliss, in its own sort of bittersweet way, and am happy; others are not. so i started to think that maybe heaven is really a level of awareness and understanding, and much like the theory of trying to reach nirvana, we struggle through life trying to reach a state of higher understanding, to make the world make sense. life throws random shit every which way, and everything's a trial to overcome, understand, and learn from. as for what happens when u die, the theory really hadn't come along that far, besides the idea of starting over, via reincarnation, or just going to a different world or realm to start over, something akin to what mormans believe of heaven.

on a side note, i'm christian, and please don't take this at face value for my beliefs.
      Life is a lust,
      Love's a kind of dust,
      Hope's an age-old feud,
And both Angels and Demons are allowed to brood.
