Can God Manifest itself in a form capable of talking

Can God manifest itself in a form capable of talking like a human. I guess like someone with an ego almost. Like someone with a personality.

I'm reading a book called conversations with god (great book), and the author claims that what he's writing came from god. God spoke to him in dialogue form. In the book is his conversation with God. This guy if he is making it up, sure has a ton of stuff right about politics, religion, sex, conciousness. Anyways is that possible that the divine energy from the highest astral plane could like be as such... just wondering on your thoughts...

Well according to the bible he spoke to people like Moses(as a burning bush) and Noah and others, so I would guess that in that case the answer would be yes. However, I find it hard to believe much of the aspects of religion that were created, written, passed on, etc by men. Which is pretty much everything...so believe whatever you want to

IMO, every human that speaks, is in at least some small way, a manifestation of God, so yes. The difficulty lies in believing what you hear, and knowing which parts of what is spoken, is God speaking through you.

Besides, a lot of that "God is talking to ' --- ' " in the bible may possibly be thoughts heard in the head...so...

Well, it depends on which god you're talking about -- lesser deities can take human form and speak in human tongues if they choose.

The Source of All Life (TSOAL), the actual equivalent to the common conception of the Almighty, is a amorphous mass of energy which only communicates by pulsing, via which it initiates telepathic communication with another entity.

In high school, I was best friends with three of Neal Walsh's sons (author of Conversations with God). I never really asked him if he actually talked to God, but I was in a focus group for "Conversations with God for Teens". So his dialogues aren't just like "So God, let's talk about 20-odd interesting things"...they are thought out questions over a long period of time which he mediatates and write on.

i think thats just bullshit, but if that author believes he spoke to god, thats good for him. what do you mean by "he sure has a ton of stuff right about politics, religion, sex, conciousness"? in my opinion all those things are just about opinion and there are no right or wrong.

If someone thinks they have spoken to God, I think they should have their head examined.

In the book, "god" basically suggests that it could be him making it up the entire time. But since god, is his soul and subconcious, etc. then he is basically tapping into his oneness with god by searching deep inside himself for the answers. He didn't just make this stuff up. As soilent said, he would ask a question then meditate on it for a long amount of time.

Soilent- thats totally awesome! Anything else that you know. Did you ever meet the author? Have you read the books. Are you still in contact with them?

I agree with you totally. I think that anything we think, anything that happens, is God-manifest. When we come to deeply mediatate on things, and we see our existence on a less-superficial level (beyond the ego), then we can converse with God.

I haven't read any of his books, but like I said I went to Neal's house all the time to hang out with his sons. The focus group that I mentioned wasn't official, it was just a impromptu session at his house with the kids in order to help him get in the mindset of teenagers and come up with questions. A couple of the questions in "Conversations with God for Teens" are my questions...
