It's sad when an ESPN sports announcer is the most intelligent and un-biased person on the show.

The evening hangs beneath the moon, a silver thread on darkened dune.
With closing eyes and resting head; I know that sleep is coming soon.

Upon my pillow, safe in bed,
A thousand pictures fill my head,

I cannot sleep , my mids aflight;
and yet my limbs seems made of lead.

Look at the message in the background, "Why do Atheists inspire such hatred?"
That lady is absolutely ridiculous, typical of CNN to have such numb skulls debating on the show.

Was that for real? CNN is usually disgustingly liberal. Why in the world did they have SUCH a conservatively biased segment?

First of all, atheists do believe something. They believe that God does not exist. Second of all, the "Christian nation" argument is retarded. This country was founded on freedom from religious imposition by the government, so the majority religious belief is irrelevant. Religion should never be a government function, period. Atheists don't want freedom from religion. We want freedom from religious imposition by the government. Government and religion should be separate. If we were a majority Muslim nation, those people would be taking a very different stance. What if coins said, "In Allah We Trust," and the Pledge said, "One nation under Allah"? They would be infuriated with that stuff. So deep down, they don't really believe what they are saying. The message in that, with the exception of what the ESPN guy said, was, "Atheists don't count." What bigoted schmucks.

Why the #@!&% was there not a single atheist on that panel? That was sickening.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

This is proof of how much atheist are being discriminated and hated in America. I am just glad that over here (netherlands, europe) it IS pretty much totally accepted.

Now you know how it feel how much people hate you for who you are. Me myself i respect for what people believe in and leave it at that. Only i hate is when people complain about people complaining about them like Neruo

You complain about christains in two topics already , now you going to complain that people are talking about you. Ha

Also, Christians are hypocrites because they claim to follow the bible, but they don't. You never stoned an atheist or a homosexual if you saw one, but the bible tells you to. You ignore that part of the bible. Not that I am saying people should, since the bible is a pretty mean piece of fiction.[/b]

Don't get to stressed, this dude might be the most indoctrinated close-minded Christian I ever saw, but there are a lot more of them :/

Ahhh, how cute, you found my old love-letters I send.

But seriously, it is just retarded to dislike atheism, since it hardly surpases each individual. Thus, hating atheist mostly means you hate every single individual atheist. To hate 'Christians' or how to should be said 'Christianity' or 'religion' means you hate an idea, a group, a system. I don't hate Christians per definition, just if they are together.

Also, like I said, I am glad to live in the Netherlands. I am glad no one here would even think to bother some one else about their religion (or absence of it) (and besides the Muslim-hate lately).

Point being: lol@christians for showing a good example of how to respect others.

(edit: Thanks you ataraxis. And yeah, let the youtube-Richard Dawkin do the talking, because he can't be annoyed of lack of logic.)

First of all, I don't understand your logic... or if you have logic... behind your argument. What's wrong with what neuro is doing? Secondly, Now you know how it feel how much people hate you for who you are. >> makes no sense whatsoever. Please at least be coherent when being... stupid. Stupid because you say you respect everyone for what they believe, but you say you hate neuro for what he believes. Uh. Need I say more?

As someone on the youtube comments said, "no athiest there... what an objective debate." Fortunately, athiesm is on the rise due to the increasingly technology-based world. It seems a trend in society and the world... more education creates less religion. Christianity is definitly affecting us. Sure, we could just "shut up" (we:athiests). But couldn't blacks just have "shut up" about religious intolerance... but we would really get no where with that logic. Athiesm is affecting us... honestly, I don't even understand how a lot of what is happening is LEGAL. Bush actually uses Christianity as a defense point in not funding stem-cell research. Bah, athiesm is on the rise. Each generation seems to be forcing their kids to come to church... occasionally they brainwash their kids enough to make them bring their own kids to church, but usually the kids will get bored of it and think "sweet, don't have to go to church anymore." No doubt generations to come people will believe there is a god, but I highly doubt the process of practicing one's religion is really going to continue for too much longer.

PS: A response to this... by Richard Dawkins
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OAUnzM-8v8

CNN went ahead and included an athiest's opinion.

yeah, Richard Dawkins is the MAN! he's got a point, too, about the misunderstanding of atheists. it's true, we aren't all devils or evildoes, we just don't have the same beliefs as other people. At my job this summer, a few days before I quit, two of my good friends just started attacking me on the fact that i wasn't a Christian, and it made the last few days there hell.
i'm a very spiritual person, but don't put myself in one religion. i take aspects of lots of different religions, and add techniques and discoveries from the scientific community, and just try to further my own knowledge and wisdom about everything.
