      101 atheist quotes

      http://atheistblogger.com/2008/02/15...theist-quotes/

      Some good stuff here.

My favorite is from the late creator of Star Trek: Next Generation, We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes. - Gene Roddenberry

      Great stuff... there's a few there which I'm going to use a lot from now on, basically along the lines of;

'You don't believe in 1000 Gods. Why are you so incredulous that I don't believe in 1001?'

Ahh, if only reason worked on irrational people.

Rather funny how people who reject one more religion can be deemed extremely immoral in some more backward parts of the world.

The general response to this one, even by the top apologists, is "well those are man-made gods". Which has got to be the most ignorant statement ever uttered.

      lol

      Why aren't there 102 quotes?

Let me make up the 102nd one, not that I'm an atheist. It's pretty easy to take something out of context.

"I do not believe in God."

Anyone else find it funny that it says 'theist-quotes'?

157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

Yeah, I wouldn't even call that an atheist quote.

That's the problem with some religion.

My belief is we are all communing with the same source whether we choose to believe it or not.
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

I believe he was actually the creator of Star Trek in general. Not just TNG.

Thats the only one I really liked. A lot of the other ones were just piggy backing off each other.

That's a broken quote. It should really be "Absence of evidence is not proof of absence". But the first version is far more catchy. I could go on about how not having any evidence is a good reason to not believe, but that would be Off Topic (and retarded).

"I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires." - Susan B. Anthony

Perhaps the best quote on there, though I wasn't aware Susan B. Anthony ever actually said she was atheist/irreligious.

Of course the lightning rod quote is always a crack up too.

Maybe she wasn't. There are plenty of people that I'm sure distrust people inside their own religion because they claim it's what "god wants."

I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.

I think I like that one the best.

What was the other quote? How to feel like you are do something while doing nothing. Typically the faithful don't want to look at the prayer study.
