      Looking for Religious Texts

Just today I picked up a copy of the King James Version of the Christian Holy Bible, and a version of the Koran. I'm still looking for a number of Holy Texts, some of which I don't know the names of or if they'll even be easy to find.

The first ones shouldn't be too hard, Hindu and Buddhist.

The others are more of a pain. Egyptian, Sumerian, and Pagan.

Any help on names and locations where I may find the texts?

EDIT: Specifically I'm looking for texts or literature that contain some of the holy scriptures of the said religions, that may elaborate on the giving of laws (AKA Commandments) but most importantly the history of their divine figures. Krishna, Buddha, Horus, Mithra, Prometheus.

As for the Pagan religion, to be more specific I'm looking for that which came out of Persia, and worship of the Sun.

The entirety of the rig vedas can be found online. (This is a compilation of Hindu poems, stories, and philosophies. There are literally thousands of Hindu sects and each one values certain elements of the Rig Vedas whilst denying other selections. So it really isn't comparable to the Bible.) I don't think Egyptians have an all-inclusive text. I'm no Egyptian expert, of course, but I don't believe that they have some sort of conclusive book. Sumarians did not collectively worship thier gods, but every shrine was dedicated to a unique God. The priest of said ziggurat were personally responsible for book-keeping on any particular religous text or ceremonial script usually relating to thier specific divine charge. Thus, there are countless religous books and there was no consensus between priests on what books were considered more important since there was very little structured theocracy like, say, the Catholics. Since temples worked independantly mostly, there is no one book written by them that will give you a good idea of Sumerian religion I don't think. Mostly, I think that your quest will be difficult.

Try to research Zoroastrianism, it's one of the earliest religions and have many similarites with the latter religions. Zoroastrianism originates from Persia

Here is a list of the scriptures: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoroast...eligious_texts

Current pagans have no one holy text,.. Their is probably many older pagan "holy books" or stories of mythology that many hold close from many varied places such as Egyptian, Roman, Greek, etc..

Closest thing would be a book of shadows that wiccans and some pagans keep, which is a personal record of their doings and such..

I can lead you to a Hinduist holy book,

      Bhagavad-gita , As it is

      http://www.bhagavad-gita.us/

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhagavad_Gita
The Bhagavad Gita is a part of the Mahabharata

The book of the dead is a must read egyptian book.

This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.
