If he knew that creating the universe the way he did would result in billions of people being tortured for eternity, it is messed up that he didn't go, "Oh, that would be terrible. I think I will try a different plan." What is also interesting is that the plan involved such mass horror because he requires that people assume he exists when they can't be sure and has a rule that they must worship him. Huh, I missed that little bit about hell. 'Guess I can't answer your question, then. There are two uses for the idea of hell, however, that could explain its use. The first (and most probable?) is that is was a fabrication by the people to scare others into believing in their faith. The second is that hell was made up by this God to get people without morals to keep from doing harm to others (we're familiar with the argument that atheists generally have stronger morals than the religious). The third option I wouldn't be able to explain would be that hell is real and to be used on people.

If God is the Alpha and the Omega, shouldn't he know who's going to go to hell by the life they'll live on Earth before they're even born? If so, why would he allow them to be born in the first place? Not only that, but why would he torture that poor soul with religious messages on Earth about how God loves him and how he has a choice as to where he'll end up when he passes away from this Earth. This falls under the freewill argument...an exhausted argument but nevertheless, still thought provoking.

John Calvin was a theologian who reasoned that predestination was the answer to the question of who goes where after they die. God knows everything so God already knows that; you're either born damned or you're not. His theology formed the basis for much of 15th and 16th century religion in colonial America until the rise of the Great Awakening and "thinking" ministers such as Jonathan Edwards, who reasoned that a perfect God could not possibly permit predestination since the responsibility of someone murdering someone can be invariably traced back to God.

God is timeless, then it means that every moment in our time will essentially be the same moment to him. All our moments will exist with His timeless moment simultaneously. This would mean that, assuming God has great powers of observation, God could know about our choices by directly observing them happen. 'Will' doesn't equal 'must' and that God's knowledge is contingent on our choices, not the other way round. In other words, if I would have choose differently, God would have 'know' differently. It is said with God there is no past, present or future just now because God lives outside our time barrier.

According to the bible angles and man were created sinless in the immage of god. Satan and other angels fell away from god and tempted eve to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil " you will be like god knowing good from bad". This was the first sin which according to the bible we are all born with. According to the bible god didn't want us to suffer that was lucifer (Satan). Life is short I don't like the odds of 1 hour a week at church vs eternity In hell. Being a Christian doesn't mean you can't live the only rule that hurts the religion is that of no premarital sex. We worry about the most irrelevant things sometimes. Whether or not you end up being tortured for eternity is completely relevant. It's an absurd concept, but a relevant one. If there is an afterlife involving any kind of extreme feeling, this life is virtually nothing in comparison.
