Introduction:
This is the data thread corresponding to the former discussion thread which hasn't had any much comments, so I take my ideas as they were with the few updates I came up with in this time.
(The Discussion thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/f32/effect...eneral-119636/)
This thread is only for posting data and immediate questions about the form, given I hopefully get a few people to participate.
If you wish to participate, please take a few minutes to read this complete post and all of its spoilers, and make sure you understand the biggest part of it.
You could of course help as well through getting other people who are interested to participate.
Form of the data:
Abreviations used in the following sector
- = For every set of data necessery information
1 = Only once necessery information
~ = Only under certain circumstances necessery information
+ = Optional Information
Relevant sleep data:
- Quantity of sleep
- Quality of sleep
- How often you woke up (counts only for the times you remeber of course)
- Depth of dreams (look at Further Notes for reference)
- Quality of dreams (look at Further Notes for reference)
~ Quantity of LDs
~ Length of LDs
Variables:
- Room Temperature
1 Climate of your country of origin (look at Further Notes for reference)
~1 Climate of your current country if different from above
~1 Time to get used to the different climate
+ Outside Temperature
+ Current season in your country
+ Weather
+ Humidity
1 Age/Gender (this would be only useful if a lot of people participate)
+ Special circumstances worth mentioning
Spoiler for Further Notes:
As for quality of sleep, there's always a certain subjectivity to this, you'll have to judge it yourself on a scala from 1 to 10.
As for the quality of dreams and/or dream recall please refer to this list to keep subjectivity out of the data as far as possible:
Abreviations used in the following sector:
M=Monochrom
C=Colored
Y=Colored, wider spectrum of colors than in reality
E=Errors and other artifacts (such as places with less details than other, or boxes instead of actual objects)
U=Undetailed
D=Detailed
R=Realistic
X=More details than in Reality
-=Less/Worse senses than in reality
~=Senses like in reality
+=More/Better senses than in reality (such as 360° sight)
If you feel up for it you're welcome to use the abreviations in your posts if you deem something special about your dream unfitting into the list. Since obviously in some rare cases it might be possible a strange combination doesn't appear on this list.
(Man, hopefully I don't scare people away with this amount of details...)
Spoiler for an realistic Example:
Quantity of sleep: 14h
Quality of sleep: 5
Woke up: 5 times
LDs:N/A
Depth of dreams: 20%
Quality of dream recall: 4 [C|U|-]
Room Temperature: 20°C-22°C
Outside Temperature: 14°C-16°C
Climate of your country of origin: Cfb
Current season in your country: Summer
Weather: Cloudy

Special Circumstances: Awake for over 30h
This is one of my own real sets of data, from the seventh August this year to be exact.

Well after all I didn't get anyone to join this experiment but at least I got my own results and I think it's about time to share them. I've kept some statistics but since I'm still pretty new to lucid dreaming my dream quality and all other aspects constantly improve, making it hard to come up with some graphical yet correct result.
However I can now support my first claim, at least for myself, I have better sleep and better dreams the colder it is in my room. I still have the theory there are different types of people who dream better if it is cold, while some other need it hot. My recommendation is to observe how good you sleep with different temperature if you seek to improve your dreaming a bit.
Just recently I had 2 lucids in 3 days and it was pretty darn cold in my room, taking me over half an hour just to get comfortable in bed, yet letting me have an awesome night in turn. I will also keep monitoring my sleep behavior under different temperatures, so I might make another update sometime soon, likely around summer.
