      Hi mnpred,

Reading about lucid dreaming is actually a suggested part of the WBTB method. It definitely helps prime the mind for LD's.

That's great that you discovered it on you own, and that just reading about LDing before going to bed works for you. Since reading incubates the idea of LDing so well in your mind, if you ever hit a dry spell (we all hope it won't happen, but in all likelihood it will eventually ), you might consider combining reading in WBTB - it would probably be an excellent back-up method for you.

And welcome to the research forum!

Honestly, I don't find it really makes a difference to me how much I read about LDing. To me it is mostly how much RCs and other stuff I DO, and keeping a DJ (what good is an LD if you can't remember it). Anyways is there an experiment here, as I don't see an actual experiment plan. Like are you asking people to read more one week, and read less about LDing the other, or what.

The topic description is a bit misleading, since Having an LD Without trying to is just spontaneous LDing.

I find this true if I read books about LDs, but reading on Forum doesn't have same effect.

Also with books, I get more success if I read for an hour in the afternoon, then 30 minutes or so before sleep.

A program that makes the words "you are dreaming" scroll across the computer screen. I thought it was related.
Reality? Where? Did I miss it?

I have been having a lot of dreams about reading DV without becoming lucid. Very annoying.

Yea I have dreams where DV is more like I am really talking to people, or it is dfferent somehow than just a forum. This is bound to someday lead to an LD I hope. I'm really in a dry spell.
