About what percentage of your dreams contain familiar people OR places?[/LIST]I would say approx. 75% of my dreams contain familiar things...or people, even if in a strange location.
About what percentage of your dreams contain familiar people AND places?
Hrm...probably 10% or so involve both, most of my dreams have things in the wrong places, things not being where they should but of course seemingly sensible at the time.
What percentage of dreams are you not in a familiar place?I am not in a familar place about 5% of the time...those dreams are usually very erratic, most of mine occur in relatively familiar places. Maybe area I haven't been in ages, but not completely far off from the norm.
About what percentage of your dream contains violence, sex, or death?
Hrm...death...about 1-2%, sex, 15-20%, violence? maybe 20-30% of the time (this changed from before..hormone levels must have...evened out :p)
How often in your non-lucid dreams do you still have superman like powers?
Good question, about 40-50% of the time I find myself doing superhuman things.
Do periods of time where dream recall decreases or increases do your dreams get less or more familiar in content?
Yes, my recall varies immensly, during times of stress/school/work, I have times of about 5 days I can't recall a single dream, and then times like now where it is almost effortless for me to recall. I think it has to do with getting desperate vs. just wanting it. If you have kind of, "looking forward to it" emotions, but not "I can't take it anymore if this doesn't work" emotions you stand a much better chance at recall AND LD's...though I'm sleeping in a different room than my own since I risk breaking my leg to peices should I try to climb to my room. It helps me feel much more focused and aware.
Have you ever confused happenings in dream life with happenings in real life or vice versa?
VERY rarely...usually during FA's, or not remembering if someone really said something to me yesterday, or I just dreamed it. As a matter of fact, that happaned today, but luckily I guessed correctly and did not look like a crazy. Sometimes I dream that I go talk to my parents and then I wake and wonder If I did already...that's the extent of it really.
Do you think you have a pretty good long-term memory?
Long term memory..yes certainly.
Do you think you have a pretty good short-term memory?
Erm..for many things yes, usually obscurely I can yank stuff out of my head, but if I'm put on the spot I can't always. For example: I was once in my class and a girl approached me..she was giving me hints she wanted to talk and I said hey, and she said ""Hey", don't you know my name?"", she walked off in a huff :/.
Do sometimes dreams seem as vivid as real life or real life as vivid as dream?
YES...ocassionally I feel (I've only had 2 dreams like this, both lucids) that my senses are actually enhanced in the dream...everything is more clear, and I am at peace with everything...those are the best..really seeing what your mind is capable of, and I long for more of those. (probably like everyone here). From time to time I have real life moments where I say..." wow, now that is a dreamy thing to happen". Ocassionally I walk my dog in the late evening/night, and sometimes I just stop on the sidewalk, in the cool, crisp air, stars showing and no wind. And recall how much like a dream scene this is...sometimes something like that truly is recreated in my own head...
Hope that gives you an idea
