Do you think this will work?

Last night I thought of this technique. Today it worked like a charm. But, it could have been a coincidence. How it was developed: I never see my dream sign. My dream sign is people from school. Friends mainly. The idea: Your dream sign should say "hey your dreaming do a reality check" kind of like an incubation. Since your dream sign is in every dream, it should have a higher success rate. The method: wake up about 15 minutes in REM so that you are nice and sleepy. Once your up cycle through your dream signs saying ( even if it is an inanimate object, give it a voice) "Hey you're dreaming! Do a reality check right now (your name)" or any variety of that, until your asleep. Once your in your dream and see your dream sign it should tell you that you are dreaming, do a reality check. Like I said it worked perfectly earlier. Exactly as planned, but do you think it was just a coincidence or is there some truth behind this? I just want to know what you guys think so I don't waste my time trying when I could be trying other techniques

I think it's a coincidence, but go ahead. You might be on to something. Test it thoroughly before you call it a new technique though

Congratulations on finding a method that gave you even one lucid dream! I think I'll give this a try my next wbtb since my dream signs are people I rarely see in real life. .
