      Eye open technique

I am not sure if this actually works, but I had an odd WILD the other night. I think this might be a new way of doing it, I am not sure though. Either way I thought it was worth posting it on here.

The other night I woke up at about 5:00am, I felt too tired to attempt a WILD so I turned over to fall back to sleep. For some reason I decided to keep one of my eyes open, to see how long I could fight the sleep.
Every so often, I would loose and my eye would shut. But I willed myself to open it. I was fighting with the sleep for about 5 minutes.
Eventually, when I opened my eye again I was in a Lucid dream.

I am not sure how it worked, but it did.
Maybe the will power of me trying to keep my eye open kept my mind awake.

Anyways, I'd like to see what you think.

How did you keep one of your eyes open? Did you cover one with your pillow so the other one was naturally open? Or did you squint one eye while keeping the other open - because that could be very uncomfortable?

It might of been a fluke that it happened that way... but it probably was the fighting off sleep that triggered it. I find whenever I do that (under any circumstance) I can usually WILD

The other eye was sort of consumed by the sleep.
      Maybe it was a fluke.

Actually I've read something similar to this a little while back.
I read about it when I looked into astral projection. (I looked into astral projection when I saw "Astral Sounds" in a magazine). I don't believe you can physically leave your body but that's besides the point. Anyway, when it was opinionated that astral projection is a high lucid dream I decided to check out astral projection techniques to help me with my lucid endevours.

I came across this advice: Stare at an object (something you like) while you're drifting off to sleep. Make sure you're relaxed. Stare at it as long as possible, even when your eyes began to get really heavy. Keep staring. Eventually you will still be looking at the object even though you are aware your eyes are closed. At that point you are free to venture out.

I don't know how well these works as I only tried it once and that was before I knew about WILDs. Anyway, I assume you'll need an anchor (other than the object) to keep you aware.

      Anyway yeah, so that's similar.

      Thank you for the relpy.
I guess this is still worth a shot then, it might actually work for Lucid dreaming.
