Ravenna's Dream Practicum?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody would be interested in participating in a dreaming practicum(or practicums) that were offered couple of years ago by one of the Dream Hackers - member of almost mythical group of russian lucid dreamers. It took place on one of the russian-language dream forums, if anything, it is fascinating to read the accounts of the participants. They even published a book based on it. I think there should be at least 10 participants for it to work. Some of the tasks are already translated, i can easily translate the rest. I am a newbie myself - however i do feel that there is a lot be learned there. MyMy

Here is the description of the introductory step: This course took place over the Internet as an interactive training, but nothing prevents anybody from repeating it by themselves or with a group. Ravenna: We are going to conduct 5-6 lessons and if we like how it goes, we are going to expand it to about 20 lessons/tasks. If something goes wrong- we'll cut it short. The most important is not what we are going to do, but a "complete submergence" in a dreaming practice. In order for it to take place, we need active response. I would like for that response to be directed not at me but at discussion of results with the participants. If you want any results, you should start actively discussing the practice after the first task. You should become actively involved in this web-seminar, in order to ferment and become ripe for the alchemical brew. This is only possible through a free interaction with other participants. Everyone should only trying for themselves. So if you feel shy, reserved, not able to speak up - get rid of it or try to push it away for some time. Open yourself up to the CURRENT and flow with it. Every task is 4-5 days, some are going to be easy, some - difficult. Some things are not going to be possible for anyone to accomplish. don't make a tragedy out of it. You will get oriented where those hard-to-reach places are. Our goal is to set a path and start moving. Entrance procedure: During the next two days you should enter the CURRENT of the practicum. Before going to sleep, imagine to yourself a corridor with doors. Walk to the end of it, where there are 3 doors one in front and two to the sides. Men go through the door in front. Women should choose one to the right or to the left. Remember the one you have chosen. Men have no choice - only the one ahead of you. Don't cheat. From this moment on, go only through "your" door. Working of the system is very simple if you start being indecisive or change direction, you get thrown out of the CURRENT. If you "can't" get through the door, work out why can't you go on with the practice. This is the initialization of the process. You choose your door, your path and walk as far as you can. Now we have doors to open. Let's not worry what's beyond them. If you are a dreaming master, then check yourself during the first couple of tasks. Perhaps you did something else than controlled dreaming. I will show you simple exercises from our art of dreaming. Ozh. This is introduction before the first task: "Each one chose a door. Door is the point of entry into the system. Our first elment of control. From now on, we are going to put it in every dream. Let "sleep entry" become a natural attribute of dreaming. First we have to configure it individually. You have two ways of going about it: abstract image of system entry and as an opposite, detailed visualization. Let everyone of you try both. In the first case, imagine corridor with doors, 3 doors, one of them is "yours", go in and in the tunnel move toward the light, letting the sleep carry you into the dreamworld. In the second case, same corridor, your door which you customize, make it large, wooden or stone, add color, texture, tactile sensations. And then the going into the "beyond". In both cases, we create a certain element, make it responsible for system entry and make tie our attention to that element. Frequent communication with it, will set its priority in our tonal list, and with the right configuration it will let us make a portal between the worlds. I am asking you to start configuring your door. Share your ideas with one another. This will expand the possibilities."

I have read the book by Andrey Reutov "Dream Hackers". It is an interesting book. Who knows, where I can download it in English? I read it in russian.

As long as it doesn't cost a dime... The fact that Mymy has only 2 posts and one of them is praising a book and their writers into the heavens(in a very unnatural way) makes it kind of seem like he/she joined just to promote the sale of a book. Could be me though... Are you a publisher Mymy? Or have any other commercial intent behind making this post?

I think he is not the publisher or the promoter of this book. I believe that he is just enjoyed this book. I have not read that book by Ravenna (although, I read only one part of it), but I have read another book by another author of this group, that called "Dream Hackers". He is Reutov Andrey, it is his pen name. This book is called 'Dream Searchers'. I think he is the best writer of books of this genre. I have read those books, two books in too days. I read it in the original in Russian, I don't know how it is translated. It is like I cannot watch movies in translastion. Although this book is fiction, but it bases on real events, how author said. In Russian These books are really popular books in our country, and I think everybody read it (how knows about LDs). By the way, can anybody tell me, who really buys books? I do not know, I think nobody buy it. First of all, it is easier to read in electronic form and we can't buy ebooks, because they are not bought. And the second, sometimes those books are difficult to find in book's shops.

They were not mythical. They became when a guy wrote a fantasy book based on what he have read on their mail list . As for Ravenna's workshop (as it is called properly in English) I do not really see anything THIS great why ppl on Russian dreamer forums rave about it. It is much more fun to use imagination and invent your own.
