      Which book are you reading?

This is a thread for people to discuss books they are reading at the moment.

I am reading 'The Subtle Knife' By Philip Pullman. It's the second instalment in the 'His Dark Materials' Trilogy.

      It's okay...but i'm looking for something else i think...

what about the rest of you?

Robert Jordan: Crown of Daggers and Kare Kano by Usuda.

I reccommend the Kushiel Trilogy for the people who like heroism with a hint of erotic touch to make it more twisted.

Second Ring of Power by Carlor Castaneda. I am working my way through the entire series. Don Juan taught Carlos "Dreaming" which is really lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming is a core practice in many Shamanic teachings.

It is amazing how closly Carlos's experiences tie in to lucid dreaming. He has given me so many ideas for things I have tried as well as things I want to try.

The whole concept of the Tonal and Nuagual is fascinating!

Frank Herbert's Dune for the fifth or sixth time.

I have about a hundred and fifty books and I read them all at least three times.

Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilych
      Zamyatin's We
      Robin Hobb's Fool's fate

NO WAY!!! I JUST STARTED READING THAT TODAY!

I love it. I've read Journey to Ixtland, Tales of Power, and The Eagle's Girft. I love Castaneda! It's so insightful!
My father read them, and suggested to me that I read the series. They helped him see that he needed to change his life in order to gain personal power. As an alcoholic, he wasted it all on his indulgent addiction. He often discusses with me the concepts of these books, and I think that after reading the books, and discussing them, they have helped me come a long way in my life today. It's also gotten me facinated with Shamanistic practices worldwide. I even had my first LD while reading Tales of Power. .....Anyway, they are wonderful books.

well, i've changed my book, and i am now reading 'Kingdom of Shadows' by Barbara Erskine...great imagery so far...it's partly set in Scotland.

Also i've reserved the first of the Wheel of Time series, since my library has decided to make reservations free of charge!!
Which also means that i might get to read the whole of the Stephen King Dark Tower series!!
God, there's so many books i want to read, i don't know where to start...and now that reservation is free, i feel like going nuts...

Michael Crichton.... the author of a whole bunch of other excellent books, many of which have been made into movies, such as Sphere, Congo, etc. But of course, none of the movies do them justice

Boundaries Of The Soul (The Practice of Jung's Psychology) by June Singer.

The first psychology book I've read that actually explains things without psychobabble or waffle. Thouroughly recommended.

      Heh...I'm a Tom Clancy buff.

Just finished Clear and Present Danger, and I'm reading Debt of Honor right now, and next I think I'll read Without Remorse. Maybe Cardinal of the Kremlin, though, I haven't read it yet, and it looks good...

Anyway, other than that, I'm re-reading Don Quixote (my favorite classic) and I might start on a few Michael Crichton books too. I've read Airframe, and loved it, but I haven't really had any time to read more of his stuff...

"Pebbles in the sky" by Isaac Asimov, best SF writer that ever lived.
Also, I believe he was good friends with Mr. James Randi, and we all love that guy.
