      Anyone Here Work At Safeway

      well i just got hired at my first job its at safeway... i wasnt expecting to get hired but now i know my job title its called service clerk im not interiely certain what it is and since this board is called SENSLESS BANTER i thougth i would post my sensless banter......

      Ya so can anyone tell what my job description for SERVICE CLERK is? anyone here work at safeway?

      im nervous as hell and i dont want to go to my job training not knowing what ill be doing. I only know one person who works at safeway and i cant get in touch till tommorow... google wasnt specific enough either so i hope you guys can help me out....

      Well, you'll be a clerk, presumably in the service booth .

      I've never shopped at Safeway, and I've never had a grocery store job, but I bet you'll be the guy at the cash register where people get their smokes and lottery cards or something. Unless safeway has a separate service stand with a clerk... then you'll be that guy. You can always go to another safeway and look/ask around hehe.

      Don't fret it, just suck it up and go to your training. Embrace the unknown!

      I work at Save-On, same thing pretty much.

      Hahaha, well you think anybody who gets a new job knows exactly what they're going to be doing? Think again. They're going to train you for that reason.

      Service clerk, at least in Save on, helps people deposit their cans/bottles, gets boxes of bags for the cashier booths, gathers carts from the parking lot and the handheld ones from around the store... they also do odds and ends to help out the store. There's a manager who you'll usually refer to in order to know what you're doing. It's not that hard of a job.

      Luckily for me, I'm handing in my notice today.

      I'm guessing you would either stack shelves or work at the till. I can't see you doing anything else to be honest. Unless you're in the area that prepares food, like the fish stand for example.

      Lots of my friends work in Tescos or Morrisons, and I pretty much labelled everything they do in the above paragraph.

      Stocking shelves is for stockboys, the till is for cashiers. Unless you're a bagger.

      A service clerk is pretty much what I said.
