      Crazy Theories That You Have

This is a thread to tell everyone the crazy theories you have about anything, meant to be funny or serious.

Personally i think that if we could somehow line up everyone on the planet in a straight line from the north pole to the south pole and we all started to run at the same time in the same direction it would cause the earths rotation to increase.

Time actually is speeding up. Everyone always says that things seem to go by faster and faster. There would be no way to measure this, so no one can prove me wrong.

      Cool subject.
      I say let's try it.
Hold on... I have a flaw in your theory!
If the earth rotates clockwise > All the Republicans will run with your theory, to the right, while the democrats counter the effect running to the left. Not making it ...right.

      My theory in short:
There seems to be polar opposites to everything.
The natural laws of physics are bound by relativity. Everything is relative as it seems.
This can't work in concert with the foundational ideas of quantum physics. But we believe there is a common ground.
As nature would have it, we as humans have the unique perspective on the perception of these two realities. In addition the possible concise knowledge to maybe recognize this if we find it.
~So. Why are we in a conscious world with so much capacity for subconscious awareness?
If we can make the conscious mind and the subconscious mind work collectively and in unison with each other, it will lead us to this answer.

The universe started as a result of a time loop. In the future, we create a new universe. Obviously, it branches off, and we can't see it anymore. We just did it because we could. Or quantum fluctuation did. Or aliens did. It doesn't matter who created it. This universe evolves on its own, and eventually also has intelligent life. And since it is a different universe, its time does not have to run in the same direction as ours, and does not. Eventually, sometime in that universe's future, a new universe is created by someone or just by quantum fluctuation, and that universe happens to be ours.

TIME is flowing like a river --- to the sea, fool!

Wouldn't the atomic clocks pick this up?

Funny you should put this forth, as it is in direct conflict with my own theory about why people say time goes faster and faster. I present to you the Percentage of Lifetime Theory:

All of our experience of time is directly related to how much of it we have experienced passing us. I believe that an interval of time is always perceived as having a value that is inversely proportional to your age. Remember how long a year seemed to be when you were five years old? At that time, a year was exactly 1/5 of a lifetime long... a nice sized chunk! When you turned ten, a year was only 1/10 of a lifetime, and thus seemed to be only half as long.

To a 50-year-old, a year is only 2% of their life, and it seems proportionally faster, and at 100, it will seem twice that speed!

As a 43-year-old, I can tell you that thinking of time as a percentage of your current lifetime frames it in a fairly consistent way. Faster and faster it goes, and the slower you seem to the world!

Would it then be possible to perceive time to go slower?
Time is only a perception, to a degree.
I have tried to ponder a world without clocks.
People are too fixated on time. What time is it? How old am I? Time for this - no time for that. Tic tick tic tick.

Your theory. I think is true. It seems factual actually.

I believe in the six degrees of seperation.

I wonder, if we got everyone on the planet to open their freezers at the time time, would it stop climate change and cool down the planet.

Or the power used for the freezers could make it worse...meh its worth the risk.

Well, yes, that is really the correlate of the Toilet Paper Roll theory (the more you get into it, the faster it goes). However, it's not just me-- I have noticed even much younger people saying this as well.
I hope you're right, so dogs can have their fair share.

I will be 43 too in a few weeks. I started thinking that maybe half my life was over, so I better start being good. How about you?

Hey secret neo--we could maybe prove the Six Degrees of Seperation theory here at DV. I'm not really sure how to do it--maybe find two of us who are really seperated and then try to connect them? (I love that movie; one of my favorites.)

^Is that the move with Will Smith from like the early 90's? I heard of it but never seen it. I actaully just found the theory out not to long ago because of LOST, and the connections the characters have to each other.

Yes, it's really good, you should watch it. It is based on a true story.

My theory on fixing the whole melting polar ice caps rising the sea level thing: Dig Billions of tons of earth out of the seabed, put it all ontop of dry land. The land is higher, sea level is lower. Problem solved.

I really can't think of any off-hand. Removing the dirt from the ocean would make the level go down too as the water went into the holes. I'm sure you thought of that part too.

Way to go! To think that a DV member saves the world....makes me proud.

"The Second-Mind Theory"... still a work in progress. My spin on the whole conscious/subconscious idea and how they are different/similar.

And I theorize that I will one day be in a position to affect world politics, but not out of anything that I do, persay, but out of either coincidence or me working on behalf of someone else. Not much of a crazy theory, but still...

If you can perceive that it is going faster, than it means that your consciousness or at least a part of it, must be outside of the part of reality that is going faster.

      Anyway my theory:
      1) Why are things the way they are, and not any different? It's impossible, there for it must be that nothing exists.

and compassion are the things which renew humanity.

It really annoys me when people say this. Why shouldn't things be like they are?
